I just replaced the O-ring where my distributor goes and changed the tranny fluid and filter on my 95 GC 4.0 with the 42RE tranny. Now when i put it into gear it drops to low RPM's and almost kills. when i take of it starts fine, then rpm's shoot up a little and seems like it downshifts/ get bogged down only between 1st and 2nd... When the guy came to help work on the distributor, he told me we needed to take it out. so i did so. marked the points so we could install correctly. well there is a little ticking noise now... not a lifter. He said if it was a hair off it was because we didnt put it in exactly the way it came out. Could this have cause my tranny problem as well?? this happened right after i changed the fluid and O-ring. Please I dont want this to lead to something worse!!
