ive got a friend building a buggy .. hes trying to save some money. hes got mogs and chevy drivetrain .. whats the best most economical way to make all this work he wants to keep his granny 4sp so does he need a 241 case or any oddball 205 out there.. the mogs are drivers drive

You would need a ford 205, maybe you could use ford trans with chevy bellhousing?? I don't know if thats possible. If you want a chevy drivers drop it will be AL.

Tell him to save himself the trouble, and sell the mog's, they are overrated. I'll give him 1200 for the set:huggy:

I believe you can use a Ford NP205. You will need to swap the Ford input for a Chevy 205 input that matches your trans. Then drill and tap the Ford T-case to match the Chevy T-case adapter pattern.

I have never done this, but that is my understanding.

Can anyone confirm that the you can swap a GM input into a Ford NP205?

It's a little more complicated. Ford uses a bigger bearing on the input. As far as I know, chevy manual inputs use a small bearing, I don't think you can make the small bearing work in a bigger hole. Ford 205 uses a round bolt pattern to mount to adapter, chevy uses a figure 8 on everything except a few late 80's 1 ton's that used a round patern. so you can't just drill and tap t-case.

he has 2 465s one has 10spline and one is 32 spline which one would be the best to start with .. also spline counts can u get a 205 ford in

If he has a 32 spline, it takes the bigger bearing and is out of a newer truck. I think you can swap in the chevy 32 spline input into the ford 205, inputs are about $200. offroad design sells them. try calling them, they are supposed to be pretty knowlagable about that stuff.
