got a 94 burban with 454 auto 4x4 bought it with out fisrt gear working put a 1st shift solinoid in it and now all gears are pulling forword reverse neutral etc but first works somewhat. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?
 
i think that sometimes it can be more than one silinoid.
What do you mean by all the gears are pulling forward now? Is first the only one working?
 
no reverse and neutral pull forword too shifts fine just no reutral or reverse now danm chevy should have stuck with what I know Fords lol......got a ford tag to put on the front maybe that will fix it
 
haha...thats what i stick to...FORD power baby!! but anyways yea i know when i had a little s 10 it was doing the same thing and i had to replace both 2nd gear silinoid and reverse silinoid and that fixed my problem.

Really? Well thanks for letting new know that cause that means I was fibbed to. I had some guy outta morehead work on it cause I ain't real familiar with trans. Appreciate you sayin sayin the correction

I had that happen to an AW4, would pull in all gears, neutral, reverse would like just lock down the truck and try to move forwards while trying to reverse.. probably some solenoid stuck or cut seals on the solenoid valve..
 
I pulled the plug on the trans and it still pulls in reverse and neutral..

Wherr can I look to see if there is a cut seal or should i try replacing all the solenoids and go from there can get them on ebay for 100
 
it pulls forword in all gears but in reverse it acts like it wants to go into reverse but pulls forword but will stall out if you give it gas to try and make it go

I just dont understand why it was fine just no first gear I drove it home 135 miles not a problem then put in the first shift solinoid and this happens why would it happen just after I replace a solinoid and not before then?
 
every time you stop and start again, with no first gear, you are putting the load on the forward clutches instead of the the low clutches and sprag, it probably overheated them and caused them to weld together.
it's really hard for me to say whats wrong without having the vehicle in front of me.
everything i tell you is pure speculation, without knowing exactly whats happening.

what should I do just replace the trans or is there something I can try before that step
