Transfer case cable shifter

I am looking to fit it to a np231 case in my montero. This swap is an upgrade in gear ratio compared to the stock mitsu case. The problem is that eventhough my tcase is driver drop it has the shifter on the passenger side. i think it would be complicated to get the solid linkages to work efficently from passengerside to the driver. this is why I am looking at the cable shifter set up. If someone can help out on this that would be great. i am trying to find an affordable durable route on doing this. thanks.
 
I saw that. I want to see if there is something home made or alternative, but they are not off the table as an option either. I kinda wanting to see about the landrover set up, because I can get the entire assembaly with the shifter for cheap. Thanks
 
Do ya need a tcase too?
 
I've got two push/pull cables from McMaster that I'll sell ya (p/n 3125K93), $60 for the pair.
I was going to make a set for my flipped twin-sticked D300, but I ended up going a different way.

Thanks for the offer Lurch, but I only need one push pull cable for the 231, and I think I need a cable with a 3" stroke not 2". thanks any ways.
 
Advanced adapters has one for the TJ, i put one in my jeep with great results. I'm not sure if it would work for you but they do offer one if you havent seen it.
 
I saw them as well. They are a little pricey, but thanks for mentioning it. i saw that the land rovers use a cable shifter set up and I wonder if I can use one of theirs.
 
I did the cable shift on an xj as the linkage was foo bar'd

I made the brackets that mounted to the trans and a shifter using a closed end wrench. It shifted ok, could be better if i took my time designing the shifter part.. it worked though.
 
Thanks, so the 3" travel in the mcmaster cable is enough? That was one of my concerns. The brackets and shifter will now be my next task to figure out. Thanks :driver:
 
I just ordered that cable, one of the ends mentioned, and the lever designed for the cable. It should fit well in my appication. now I need to fab the brackets for everything. Thanks Yall. i will post pictures as it comes along.
