im planning a transfer case swap with a twin stick shifter im wondering what would be a good case to swap into my 88cherokee with the 4.0 and use a twin stick shifter would a danna 300 work?

The D300 would work with modification IF you can match your transmission output to the 23 spline input of the D300! Might also have to swap in a later model trans that has the 23 spline output. The D300 will need to be flipped over to use the driver side drop of your stock D30 front axle. Kits are available for this or it's possible to DIY if you're handy. Alternatively you could use the D300 in stock configuration and swap in a passenger side drop front axle.

what are ya running ? might help people understand what your up to. Is the 231 not doing the job ? did you swap axles in ? etc..

its the stock tranny that came in the jeep im runnin 36 tsls im pretty sure the axels and all are doin a good job with 3.73 gears and front and rear lockers the main reason im lookin for another case so i can use a twin stick shifter for front and rear digs and so forth

the stock tranny in 88 is gonna have a 21 spline rear output, auto or BA10 5 speed? which means a dana 300 will not bolt up

swap in a newer tranny 23 spline output, then swap in your dana 300 and twin stick it

If you are still running the stock axles(D30disco/27 spl 8.25) than I would really think about spending that money on swapping axles (especially running 36s with lockers) before I would want to do front digs. If you just want it for the cool factor than be my guest. Its just if you're doing ruff enough stuff to need to do front digs I would have a hard time trusting those axles. I've been wheelin for a long time now, and there has been very few times I needed front digs. Just my 2 cents take it for whats worth.

what would be a good ratio for the 36s for good on and some serious off road abuse

At least 4.56 but 4.88 would be better, oh and D30, 27spl 8.25, 36s, and serious off road abuse do not belong in the same sentence. I highly recommend swapping axles before you worry about the T-case.

Yup, definitely ditch both of those axles with 36's. It's just a matter of time before detonation, especially the dana 35. (Those t-case un-necessaries can come later)

And I'd go with at least 4.88's with 36's. I've got 38's now, and 4.88 is fine, but I wish it was 5.13.

Just my thoughts

Front digs are overrated. I've got twin stick on my junk and have only needed it one time and I forgot I could do it so I ended up winching.

I'm not doubtin u wheel hard but that stock tcase is fine sell yor axles and upgrade. With 36's I'd go dana 60 rear HP 44 front most will say ford 8.8 rear which is a really easy swap the front swap will be hard if you don't weld or know someone who does fora living and def gear it 4.88 cuz before u know it you'll be wantin 38's
