transmission cooler lines

I'm having all new exhaust put on my 72 C-20. The tranny cooler lines are going to have to be rerouted to clear the new headers. My problem is I'm not sure where to route them until exhaust is in place. I'm thinking of just putting a short loop on the lines where the come out of the tranny (TH350) and driving the truck to the exhaust shop like that. Six miles round trip, then properly route the new lines to the cooler when I get home with new exhaust in place. Anyone see an issue with that?

I would do it personally. If something does go bad and destroys the trans, you can contact Lee here on the board!

I ran a th350 on about ten rides just like that. I eventually burned it up but it was way more than. Six mikes.

where are the lines now?
most of the time you can just "bend" them out of the way to make room for the exhaust. it's a c-20 there is a ton of room under there.
i am not going to be the one to say it will be ok just looping the lines. heat is the biggest killer of automatic transmissions. (although it will most likely not hurt it)

The lines 90 straight out of the tranny to the frame rail then run forward to the cooler. I just got done running temporary rubber lines with extra slack to the frame rail to get me by. Thanks all for the input.
