transmission fill? toyota 4runner

5sp transmission on a 88 4runner. how do I tell if the fluid is full? how much should be in there?

I believe its on the driver side. there is a plug 3/4 of the way up. check it like a rear end. Remove the plug and stick your little finger in to the first joint and bend down. You should have a little gear oil on the tip of your finger.
