Pulled the A999 apart today to go through it. Expecting but clutches and lots of wear, I’m a little befuddled at how clean it is and have a few questions.

Looking the the intermediate band, this is about the only thing that was a blatantly obvious issue.

The housing looks good though

Going to break this up into a few posts for ease of replies.

First set of clutches… look good, but I’m not sure how much clutch material to expect

As soon as I locate my feeler gauges, I need to check clearance between clutches and snap ring. Seems awful loose to me.

One of the counter shafts for the solenoid arms has two grooves and one o ring. Need to see if that is normal. Seems odd as where is sits/seats is a nice machined area.

One of the solenoids had a blue/green build up that I think is the paint from the spring. And then two of the solenoids has a piston ring style seal as opposed to a rubber seal like I was expecting.

And transmission people that can offer feedback, it would be appreciated. And if you see anything that I didn’t mention, speak up please.

The clutch packs seem a little sloppy. The smaller band tensioner seat issue, the debris from peeling paint on the solenoid springs. Solenoid rings vs seals?
