Traveling the Sound side of NC?

I am thinking of taking a few days and seeing what the sound side of NC looks like, such as Oriental and so on.I plan to stick as close to the sound as possible. Does anyone have places I can't miss also looking for camping sites on this trip. I will be in the truck tent. I saw goose creek state park. I am thinking of running Oriental to Manteo.

we did a motorcycle trip out their. up the sound and back down the outer banks. Pretty fun.
pettigrew state park is pretty cool, and the ranger is the nicest, most helpful guy i've met.
The general area is pretty nice. The home of the grave digger is somewhere up near the top!:driver:
