I went lower on my bottom links than usual. They are actually mounted on the front bottom section of my pumpkin. There is several reasons why i did this. Definantly not your typical 4 link setup. And the johnny joints turned sideways...well i am second guessing that. Thanks for looking:D

Got some work done today. The 4 link is done besides welding it all up and i got my shocks on up front. I probably will move them later but for now they are good. Got drive shaft parts. Front will have a 2 piece drive shaft. It will have the wheels and tires on it tomorrow!

As long as your joints don't bind at full comp or droop there is no problem with mounting them in their side. The longer the links the easier it is to get way with it. The lowers being triangulated backwards should work fine. Many people do it with good results. In your situation it may actually be a good thing to have them that way because they'll be closer together to act as a skid down to the axle where most guys get hung up with rocks between their lowers and the axle. The big concern is having enough triangulation to locate the axle. From the looks of it you should be fine and still have minimal rear-steer

My old buggy was setup similar to this but not as good. With your lower links in like this it allows you to have a huge clearance area behind your front tires and in front of your rear tires. I got my fingers crossed that it will operate correctly. Plus with this setup i can run my brakes and my steering on the inside of my axles. Nothing hanging off the front or the rear.

Well it is officially on wheels and tires. I do have some adjusting to do but not too bad. These are the measurements that it ended up at:
Wheelbase 132"
Width 8'
Belly clearance 29"
Overall height 7'

Is that full bump? I can't tell on my little phone screen? You should be able to really tuck those axles into that chassis at bump.
