Treadwright tires.

Just wanted to vent a little about treadwright tires. I've always thought highly of this company, nice tires and patterns at a attractive price point.

I placed a order on 3/3/17. Never received a tracking number. Over the period of 3/9/15- 3/15/17 I called daily and never could get the shipping dept to pick up the phone. Each day I would have to go through a different dept to find anyone that could find where my order was. The excuses changed each day. It started with "that's a common size we should have that in the warehouse and it should ship today" then it was the press is down it will be a few days. Last Friday I was told the tires were being made that day and shipping on Monday the 13th at the latest. Well today the 15th I call again as there is no tracking updated. I get told that the tires are being made and they will be done on Friday the 17th for shipment......so I proceeded to cancel my order.

"If" the tires did ship out on Friday it would have been 14+ business days to get my tires.

So much for saving a buck or two when your truck is down that much waiting for tires to arrive.

I give them a fail on customer service. The tires were never listed as back order or out of stock and still showing available on there site. I was never once apologized for the trouble and probably spent a total of three hours over the last week just trying to find someone to pickup the phone to ask about my order.


Lesson learned and treadwright will never see another one of my dollars.
Sorry for the rant, hopefully this saves someone a headache and wasted down time thinking they are saving a buck.


Should have done my homework. Google pops up a ton of the same stories with a BBB rating of a F.

Dang, that stinks. I have a set on my truck and they are not bad tires, especially for the money, and I never had a problem with shipping; now this was 6 or 7 years ago when I bout them I believe, so seems like they have gone downhill.

Yep. They call their process something else, but basically new treads on old tires. I have a few friends that claim they are great and they might be, but I just dont trust them for something that drive my family around in on the highway as well as the dirt.
 
I bought a set a a year ago and the shipping and all that jazz was fine but a year later they are worn slap out but they are on a f350 that sees about 500 miles weekly and weighs about 9000 lbs all the time more when I hook to the gooseneck and what ever I haul wasn't impressed with the tire life I believe they call their process a remold
 
I've always assumed every semi tire was a retread, except for maybe the steering ones.
 
I have two diesel trucks and one of them usually has a trailer behind it at about any given time.I will not run a retread tire,not even on the back of my dually.
 
No trucker I know runs retreads on the front. 50/50 if the drive tires are retreads depends on company but almost all trailer tires are retreads

My dad works in the shop @ Old Dominion and they wont run caps on anything.All virgin rubber on their trucks.
 
That's what I ment by 50/50 half of the companies will run them and half won't touch them with a 10 ft pole.

I think its more owner/operators than companies.I don't think OD will even put on their trailers.I have learned my lesson on tires,dont run caps and don't run a "C" load range passenger tire on the front of a ton diesel truck.

Your right most of the guys I know that run them run day trips or log, haul for sawmills.

I wouldn't put 20"s on a ton truck either I stuck with 16s and I'm the only one that hasn't had to replace a wheel at some point

I ran a set of TWs for years. Never a problem.
FYI They are WAY heavier than a typical tire of the same size. The vertical tread portion they add on top of the casing is a lot thicker (taller).

I bought mine used so can't speak to the order process, but I did call once and ask them about the actual measurement size, and weight. Guy didn't know but went to the shop and measured and emailed me the info later, I was impressed at the time for the effort.

Ive stayed w 16's but Ive replaced three on my dually,all fronts.I finally bought a set of aftermarket wheels.

Its a common problem for the wheels pictured.The wheels always crack around the spokes.

500*52=26,000 miles/year
I'd love to get 26,000 miles out of a set of tires on any of my vehicles :D :burnout:

I hear ya,both my trucks take a 235/85/16 and come w ZERO mileage warranty.
 
Mine are 245/75/19.5 load range g I assumed with them being a medium duty truck tire on a pickup I would have gotten a few more miles than that out of em
 
Seems like I was putting tires couple new several use on my 16" rims every 3 to 4 months on the front they were wearing flat just fast I thought
