I assume you're talking about the comp compound. Everybody I know, including me, found them pirate being sold by a competitor or is actually a competitor himself.

Earlier this spring I had planned on running XRRA in Gray Rock (didn't work out, broken buggy) and I had planned on running in Uwharriecross (I did that) so I called up Maxxis. I told them, "Ok, I'm a competitor now. How do I get on your program?"

The answer was that they'll sponsor anybody but that I had to commit to running an entire WEROCK or XRRA series. One (or three) race(s) wasn't enough and everything else didn't count. I specifically mentioned King of the Hammers because it seemed odd that only WEROCK and XRRA mattered to them and they held their position. Even KOH isn't an exception, it has to be those series and it has to be all four. Obviously, I still don't have a tire sponsor.

So, you need to know somebody or be somebody to get them cheap. If you're made of money you can get them for $555 a tire + shipping off of their website.
