Trimming the Body Mount?

My passenger's side front tyre is rubbing and creating a very worrisome wear pattern. The driver's side front tyre has no sign of such wear.

The likely culprit is likely the body mount. I was advised to trim it by a mechanic at offroad shop A, and it was suggested by the manager at offroad shop B, but when I spoke to the mechanic, he advised against it.

I don't want to ruin my tyre; what are my options here? Thank you for your replies.

Specifications: 2007 Tundra regular cab, 40" tyres, 12" susp + 3" body lift.

Notice how the left side of the tread is being 'rubbed' (if that's the correct verbiage), yet the right side is in tact.

 3" bl on top of the foot of susp lift. Solid axle swap will fix this.

I already have a 3" body lift on both sides.

Well I would hope so, looks like you you can easily fix the issue with a cutoff wheel and a few mins. Looks to be barely rubbing from the marks on the tire.

Turn the wheel all the way the right, mark the body mount with a sharpie where it's close or hitting. Do the same for the other side. Then take your 4 1/2 angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and cut where the line is. Then switch to to a flap wheel clean up the edges and paint the bare metal.

Update:

I did some measurements and it turns out that I'm only getting 13 3/8" instead of 15" of lift.

I did not get coilovers with the 12" lift; do I need them to get the whole amount?
