Me and the wife want to plan a RV trip out west and catch Yellowstone, grand canyon, and on my personal list MOAB. We will be pulling a 36 foot camper and are trying to get experienced advice on way points, don't miss this, and expected reasonable (realistic) time frames and destinations to overnight at. I am not a person who can safely tow hammer down to get to A and B in the shortest time. My wife also DOES not tow. We got to two teenagers and would like to stop every night to rest and get a few hrs sleep, not always fully set up. A walmart camp isn't totally beyond me for a short furlow. We got 3 weeks to work with. Four if I push my luck :)! We would also highly entertain traveling companions!!! Anybody interested or got Ideas, my wife is a huge planner and we are ready to get this ball rollin and make some reservations.

My wife and I took a trip just like that about ten years ago. We went out I-40 to the Grand Canyon and up through Colorado, Yellow stone, Jackson Hole, over to SD Badlands NP, Mt. Rushmore, back down to St. Louis and the arch. We drove 6321 miles. Went through 22 states and seems like we hit seven national parks. All in 17 days. We did stop in Denver and Roscoe, SD for a couple days to visit friends. If I can find our journal/pic album you are welcome to stop by and look at it. I could probably give you some advice on do's and don'ts also.

Still haven't forgot about the motorcycle.

me neither on the bike, I got to clean the carb. she would not fire after sitting for several months. figured it needs to run! And I'd love to pick your brain about the trip.

We did this trip last summer,28 days,3600+ miles,$2800 in diesel.Didnt do Yellowstone but we did do the GrandCanyon and if you like red rocks you need to stop in Gallup NM at red rock Park.Theres a lot to see and no matter how hard you plan youll find out after you get back that you missed something. If I can help let me know.

Wife and I did out and back last September... http://ourrooftopadventure.wordpress.com/ it's in reverse order so start at the bottom...

Been to Yellowstone several times and it's nice but doesnt even hold a candle to Yosemite. Crater Lake is amazing, North Rim of the Grand is amazing, Crescent City Redwoods are amazing, Arches is amazing... we live in a pretty freaking amazing country!

We did the trip in just under a month and 7,500 miles... with just 3-weeks you'll need to hammer down from here to there. We drove straight from NC to WY.

I don't really have anything to add (sorry), but this is on my bucket list. Sounds like an awesome trip. Good luck, and have fun!
