Anyone in here Ski? I am heading to Maine next Thursday where my Dad lives. I will be skiing at Sunday River and Surgarload USA while I am there. Also snowmobiling alot! Anyone ever been up that way? used to live there about 5 years ago and still like it alot. Prob would never moved back from NC though. Last time I drove up there it took 26 hours in April because in VA there was 2ft on the ground and by the time I got to MASS there was 5ft. It was great. I drive through the night so the only sketchy thing is all the deer out this time of year! IF you haven't been to Maine, you for sure should go sometime!

snow mobiling sounds like it would kick ass. never done it before but would love to try!

i did an east coast road trip for a couple of weeks a few years back, and maine one of my stops. it was summer, so no snow. beautiful country though, and you can't beat some of the little coastal towns/villages.

sounds sweet, ive always wanted to ride a snow mobile, they seem hella fun

well they are quick...faster then any dirt bike or 4wheeler i have ever road...and the only one i have seen fast then a street bike is a 1800 my uncles buddy had and if u mashed it off the line it would either flip your through you off because of the studded track!

damn, thats crazy.

I'm not a skier or snowmobiler but I did live in Maine for three years and my wife is from There.
I lived in Brunswick which is 30 miles north of Portland. We go back for visits just about every year.
This past October we went to a resort wedding in Bethel which is next to Sunday river. It is certainly a beautiful area, especially when your on the links, looking at the mountain views and the leaves are in full color. If I didn't live here I would live in Maine.

Ah, just got a good snow report just minutes ago from a friend that lives in Waterville...

He went to Sugarloaf today and they had about 12" of fresh powder. Nice...

I went up there for New Years 2 years ago for some skiing, hoping to have some awesome east coast skiing. All year it was cold with lots of snow. I get up there for 4 days of skiing and end up skiing for 1.5 days in rain, slush, and 45* weather...

It was a fluke as the next week was cold with lots of snow. It was nice anyway cause we got to meet Seth Wescott at his bar by Sugarloaf and have a few beers...

Fun times. Aug 2008 will be a week at Moose Head lake
