Me and a friend want to go camping/trout fishing for a weekend, we have both done a little fly fishing for bass, bluegill, but never trout. Can anyone give me some good ideas about where to camp and fish? We are looking at stone mountain state park, anywhere else that we'd be better off going to?

I love graham county NC.
There are 8 stocked rivers within a 30 minute circle.
We always camp either at Big Snowbird or Lake Santeetlah State park...both are primitive and free.

Thanks for the tips guys, any and all advice is appreciated. We talked about the Bryson city, Fontana lake, graham county area, which adds about 2 to 3 hours drive each way, may be worth it though. We also talked about going into the smokies. I have found a lot of trout stream maps online, but none that show access areas and where to park and such, do ya'll know of any good resources for maps?

We are wanting to go near the end of April, still need to get some waders and figure out where we are going, hopefully this will be the first of many trips

You'll need a separate trout license to fish in the Smokies, versus the trout license needed for anywhere else in the state.
