I've been thinking of putting a cover on the bed of my pickup. I was wondering about canvas versus a hard cover ( mainly a retraxpro ). Any body have likes / dislikes about one or the other? Thanks in advance.

Cost was a big factor for me. My old Tundra had a Lund roll up canvas cover. I loved it. Probably not as secure as a hard roll up cause somebody could take a knife to mine and get it open, but I never had any issues.

I had one on my old tacoma. I believe it was a Century name brand and it was fiberglass. I liked it ok but it leaked in one corner (installer issues from a local business). The other thing that I didn't like was that there were a lot of things that you couldn't haul (washer, dryer, etc.) Other than those 2 issues it was good. Like a big car trunk.

The hard roll up is the kind I'm looking at. What I like about it is you can open up just as far as needed, where the canvas roll up is either totally open or totally closed.

I have had two truxedo's and had good luck with them. Nice thing a out them is they roll up all the way. That is what I don't like about the retrax cover takes up space even when retracted.
