Been having some issues with the temperature mixer for a while. Sometimes works properly, other times it’s all over the place. Y’all are going to think I’m crazy, but the temperature jumps all over the place when I hit a big bump. I can hit a bump or jam the brakes and it gets much hotter coming out of the vents. I then have to make adjustments to get it right again. Water level in the radiator is good. No other issues besides the mixer. Anyone ever changed the mixer? Easy job?

1.1 hours, so it shouldn't be too bad.
Remove radio, pull down glove box. Remove 3 screws & unplug connector. Installation reverse of removal.

Maybe a door has come loose, or not getting proper connection, for some reason. Sound like you got to go into it regardless.

Since the locations (floor/vents/defrost) are vacuum controlled, is the temp range also controlled that way?

No temp range has an electric actuator.

I can hear the actuators making a weird noise when changing vents. Going from upper vents to defrost sounds like a door opening in a haunted house.
