Having a problem and hoping someone can help...

I have a 2006 Ford F350 with the 5.4 in it and when I put gas in it it will not let me fill it up at the full blast. If I hold the gas nozzle wide open, I get kick back like the tank is full and thus shutting off the nozzle. I have to hold the nozzle open as little as physically possible (depending on the pump) in order to keep gas coming continually without it kicking back out the filler neck.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in fixing this or anything that will help.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you've got a vent in the filler neck plugged. You might check that out first. But your first mistake was buying a Ford:lol: Laughs.

sometimes if you pull the filling handle part way out of the gas nozzle it will help to vent easier and fill faster. in other words, dont push the handle all the way into the gas nozzle chamber (for lack of better term). i've had the same problem with a 96 bmw.

i would like to know what u find out the problem is my fiances hyundai does the same thing it really sucked when it was cold out

Not a flat bed by the way...

I tried that, doesn't work. I pull the nozzle the whole way out of the filler neck and it doesn't help at all.

Not taking any sides on truck makers but my 04' Duramax does the same thing. I hope you find out the problem. Good Luck

Wifes got a '07 Escape. I have to fill it slow up till about half a tank and then I can fill it fast....weird....
