I posted this on some diesel sites to but thought would put here because you guys have always helped alot and figured it couldn't hurt so here it is.I have an 07 quad cab 2500 4wd with 5.9 6speed. Today when driving I heard a ding and thought my low fuel light had come on because I was approaching empty but no my air bag seat belt abs parking check gauges and some little red light near coolant temp came on. My tach and spedo also quit. It lasted a sec or two then came back on. It did this several times in about a half mile. Then I stopped at store came back out cranked truck and it cut right back off. Started it back up and pulled onto road and it happened again. I don't loose power but I am worried I have a serious problem. I had my smarty on level six with timing on 4 everything else on default. I don't think it had anything to do with it but I took it back to stock and it did it again since. It had 1 code a pd403 I believe it was. I appreciate any help on this. My mods are smarty SB 3250dd airdog 2 ,isspro EV2 pyro, fuel press, boost gauges a S&B cai and 5" from turbo to 7 inch single stack.

Thanks for the suggestions. How would I check the batteries. Put a volt meter on them while not running? Do I need to disconnect them from each other first? And how do I check the amount of output from the alternator? What should it be? Thanks again for the quick responses and I guess I'll check the plugs going into the big electrical block too.

Isn't it still under warranty? Just take it back to the dealership.

It's too new to be needing batteries or an alternator. While possibly the cause, it's much more likely that you've got a bad connection or a fault in the harness somewhere. Maybe a loose connection in the cluster, etc. Make Dodge figure that shit out.

Good luck with getting them to look at it with a programer, they will say that's what caused it...

Well, then... he's fawked.

Shoulda just posted, "Hey guys, I got in my CTD today and it did some weird, crazy shit all on it's own."

And we would have just said "Yep."

'least it didn't catch on fire and burn down his carport.

It did it while truck was off sitting still in parking lot with key forward. Wouldn't a loose connection need vibration to act up? And I have no warranty except motor warranty.
