Ok, So I have everything wired up right.....I guess. I have the big red wire going from the the battery with an line fuse going to the amp. I have the amp grounded. I have the 2 RCA calbes coming from the back of the head unit to the amp. I have the sub wired up to the amp. The only thing I am missing is the blue remote turn on wire. it is not hooked up. I do not have a place for it on the back of my head unit. There is though a blue wire with a white stripe that i think is the same thing. How do I go about getting the remote turn wire to work? and will the amp not work at all without this remote turn on wire? Because my amp or sub isn't working atm.

You can find out if it is the remote line by hooking it up to a voltmeter.
Or, you could run a line from your batt to your amp with a switch to turn the amp on and off.
You must have the remote line, yes

Hook it to the blue and white it should be for a power antenna and will remote turn on the amp. Jump the remote wire straight to the battery wire and the amp should turn on.

I added a simple push button switch in with my amps remote wire. That way I can turn the amp on or off depending on the situation. I always take the sub out when wheeling, so it makes it easy to push the switch and make sure the amp isn't on.

OK I got the amp to turn on. I found the remote wire and then wired my new remote wire to it and the amp IS coming on. the subs however are not working. There is a single wire coming from the sub to the amp that is split on both ends. One split in the wire has a bunch of + signs on it so I hooked it up to the positive part of the amp and the other wire to the negative part of the amp. So i am trying to figure out why there is no power going to the subs.

what gauge is the wire, and what are the specs for the amp and sub?
6ga. The amp and sub were both given to me. but them sub is a 200w and the amp is also 200w.
both 4ohms
I think the problem is in where the wires are connected with the sub itself. The sub has 4 connections. I have the wires connected just on the left side. Should I have one on the positive of the left side and then a negative on the right side? does it matter?

if it has 2 sides you can bridge your speaker. and if your amp is a 2 channel you can bridge it also. if its a mono its already bridged inside
