Time to get rid of my boggers, so I'm looking to buy a set of tires for my ranger and wanting some info.
The two tires I am looking at are the 36x12.5-15 TSL-SX and the 36x13.5-15 Bias IROK. I had been keeping a eye out for a used set but have not seen any that I really wanted so I think I will buy a new set. I do drive it on the road some and trailer it for long trips. I have ran a set of SX tires in the past and got real good milage out of them and they held up well off road but I think the IROK would be better off road with a trade off in mileage. Any one ran both and have a opinion on witch they like beter and why? If I did go with the SX I would most likely cut the center lugs for a little more traction and flex.

I haven't had the SXs, but comparing the TSLs to the IROKs... The IROKs are softer and seem to have much better traction for trail riding and rocks. I can't say for mud, as I haven't had the IROKs in any yet. It sounds like you have a pretty good grasp on the adv/disadv of each tire. You just have to decide whether you would rather have traction or tire life.

I have a set of 36 inch bias ply Iroks. I havn't posted them up for sale because I just havn't gotten around to it. They have less than one mile on them, as I have only driven them around the parking lot and up a loding dock a few times. They also have a full warrenty from 4Wheel Parts. I paid right at $1,000 for the tires and mounting. I would take less cause they are "used" but they really are new.

Well there ya go..

I was actually going to suggest the SX's as they are less 'balloney' than the IROK's, but if you can get a deal, then go for it!

Rich you sure you don't want this set of boggers back. HAHA

I looked up the weights and the Irok is only about 8 pounds lighter then the SX I was looking at.

in the past, i always would have picked the tsl sx's because they are tried and true. i knew the interco ad says traction with the iroks is "as good as it gets", but it also makes you believe thornbirds are awesome, too, and we all know thats a lie!!
howeavor, as my freind has just traded his sx's for 36 inch iroks, and loves them, i will have to say go with the iroks. ive seen firsthand how better the iroks are as far as traction on rocks and trails. they flex and conform a lot better. i believe paradise is right about sidewall strength- if you side wall in ruts and rock a lot, you cant beat a sx.

Wow, the Irok kick ass, I like them very much, mud, dirt, and big A+ for the rocks, But the road, the worst, been through 7 tires to find round ones, got the best of 7 and still crap ride! PS paid to pad balance all.
