tube tek

good bender, Spence & I went halfsies on one back in 08 and have put a couple hundred bends through it.

Cliff seems to be a hard man to get ahold of. If he fixed his customer service issues, I think he could be a much bigger player in the bender industry. He makes a great bender at a great price, but you can't give him your money! I pimped him to one guy, out of state, who bought one and loves it. Problem is, he wants some new dies and can't get Cliff on the phone or through email to order them!

No luck contacting him. Has anybody had any issues with ordering on the website and the product not ever showing up?

Unless he was blowing smoke up my ass(which i don't think was the case at all) he has had some health problems. He owes me an order, but late last year he apparently got knocked in the head and has been having vision problems as a result. This can happen after a concussion and will return to normal, but it can take a long time apparently. He is a one man show so he hasn't been getting much of anything done.

I don't know the guy personally, just relaying what he told me when i called him a few weeks ago to ask about the status of my order.

I used one for the first three years I was in business. I had the harbor freight air/hydraulic conversion on it. Used it to do a couple cages and bumpers and it never would release the tube from the dies, you had to beat the hell out of the tube with a dead blow for 5 minutes to get it to pop loose. After a month of trying to get ahold of Cliff I finally took the die up to him and he re-worked it and shipped it back to me. When i got it back it appeared that all he had done was take a flap disc and open the die up a little (I was not impressed). I didn't work any better. So I dealt with it until I could afford a better bender. Last year I bought a jd2 model 32 and will never look back.

Cliff is a nice guy who is willing to help. I think he may just not have the means to handle building the product and handling the customer service. I know many guys who have the same bender and have no issues. I'm assuming mine was just a lemmon so I can't hold it against him and for the price it is a decent machine for a guy who does occasional tube work.

Spence & I had similar performance when running 1.75x.120 wall DOM, figured it was just the nature of the beast..... We didnt have to beat it, just a nice jerk of the opposite end of the tube to pop it out.
