TUBETEK BENDERS? ANY VIEW ON THESE??

IAM LOOKING FOR A GOOD BENDER, I FOUND THIS GUY TUBETEK.NET AND HE HAD GREAT PRICES. BENDER DEGREE WHEEL AND 1 3/4 DIE SHIPPED FOR $510. HE IS IN ASHEVILLE TO. I HAVE HEARD HE ISNT QUICK TO SHIP AND HE IS A ONE MAN SHOW. BUT HAS ANYONE ON HERE HAD ANY DEALINGS? CASH IN HAND TODAY TO BUY A BENDER IS WHAT I SAID IN MY EMAIL TO HIM, BUT I HAVE NOT GOT A REPLY YET..
 
Great benders. Slow service. Hard to get ahold of. I've used one, I'd buy one, I've recommended them to several folks. All have had the same problem. Can't get him for a while. When they do, he's on the ball and they're happy with the bender. Try to call him.
 
i called the guy about 2 weeks ago. he seems like a decent guy, he seems to wanna talk alot. lol. he told me it would be a 2 week turn around.
i ended up finding a bender on here for sale and buying it. if you buy it, please let me know, id like to know if that bender and my pro tools 105 bender have interchangeable dies.
 
i talked to him tuesday, 2 emails since and called twice today. i was going to drive up there in the morning to get it...
 
iam just going to get a jd model 32. ill spend a little more than i wanted to but, its not a odd ball bender either... any local guys sell these?

Mine works good, I've got a hydraulic setup for it. The only real problem I have is the tubing gets stuck in my 1.75 die. I mean stuck bad! You have to beat it out with a big deadblow hammer. From what I can tell where the follow die and the die meet they kinda create like a chinese handcuff on the tubing. I took the die back to him a year ago to have it fixed and it looked like he just opened the sides of the die up a little so it wouldn't pinch as bad. It helped but you still have to hit it hard a few times to get the tube out. It bends nice but it can be a pain to deal with.
 
i would more than likely my his bender if i could reach him. i was going to go up there this morning to check it out and pay cash for everything but i cant reach him. thats what pushes me to the JD bender
 
Over the past few years I don't think I've ever heard a good thing said about him except for if you actually get one, it's nice for the price. I built an air over hydro gottrikes style bender on casters in a couple days using pro tools dies and scrap metal-- having had used jd2 horizontal benders previously...I definitely prefer mine. Just food for thought if you don't feel like spending so much.
 
Yea I don't feel like waiting on how ever long it could take for him. I have heard he says 2 weeks but no thread that I have read says just 2 weeks. I have hear 3 weeks to 3 months. I was told by a vender for jd2 said order monday have by friday.
 
Well its been over a week since the first email. So I solved my problems and ordered a JD2 model 32.
