i need to get some tubing around raleigh, i dont want to drive to greensboro if i dont have to. i need 120' of 1.75x.095 and 40' of 1.5x.095, all DOM. i got quoted like $7 a foot in durham and i hope i can get it cheaper elsewhere. i have acess to a business account with apex steel, but they couldnt even get DOM last year so i dont know if they have it or not.
 
What about Dillon?
 
I'm planning on buying DOM in the next few weeks if you wanna jump in my order

I was quoted $3.60/ft for for 1.75 x 0.120 wall DOM , will probably go down to 3.50 maybe even 3.40 ish since i have another guy that might buy with me too. You'd be the only one getting 1.5 OD. Let me know. It's from greensboro but I'll bring it to raleigh for you if you chip in some gas money or something.
 
dillon, nor anyone else around here, carries tube that i'm aware of. unless something has changed recently.

seems like there was a place around sanford that did, but i can't remember for sure.
 
where are you guys getting tubing from in Greensboro?
 
Dillon's didn't stock it, but they could get it.. I've bought some from them in the past.. long time ago though.

Ryerson had a lower cost by about $0.10/ft for 1.75x.120 DOM . Both were very helpful over the phone. Funny thing is they are located just down the road from each other in G-boro, and there's no place "good" in Raleigh to buy tube from that I've found yet, but I'm new to the game so what do I know :confused: Would be nice to have somewhere closer at reasonable price but an hour drive isn't so bad either.
 
Yeah I talked to Dillion not to long ago. They can get it but no discount for bulk orders

What's Dillon want for 1.75x.120?

If it gets you to a price break, I'm in for 80ft and can haul it.
 
It doesn't show up on Foymart's price sheet, but might be worth a call. They're typically a little bit more than Dillon on standard shapes.

No there's no dom at foy mart

I made a big order last year, and Dillon was the best on 1.75 .120, but with the mix I was ordering, Chatham steel was the best in total.

Metal Supermarkets in Greensboro has some. Service there is awesome for buying metal. Usually if you ask or tell them it's your first time in they'll give you a discount.
