Man this really pisses me off. Some of you know I decided to go back to school about a year and a half ago. That's the reason I sold both my Sierra and then my Suburban, to pay for tuition.

Well, I calculated out all I needed for my very last payment, since I graduate in May 2012 and figured out I had to pay a hair over $1750 (for two classes, ugh).

Well, apparently I am now over the amount of allowable credit hours and now am subject to a tuition surcharge.

$650

Yes, I was assessed a 50% surcharge because I have too many credit hours. :shaking:

I'm going to go over and try to get it waived next week. I have already applied for graduation and it has been accepted and all, so I'm hoping they'll have some mercy on me and drop that charge since it is only one semester. :shaking:

How many do you have, I know I've heard of schools putting extra charges on people who have over a certain amount credit hrs and dont have a degree yet.

It took me 7 years to get a 4 year degree. I think I was a few hours short of 3 degrees when I graduated. I'm glad they didn't have this back then................

Maybe if you weren't being so inconsiderate and bombarding them with all that money Thayer wouldn't have to charge you more money :shaking:

Yeah, that's the problem. I have like 145 hours and they charge you the surcharge over 140. I didn't even think about that ahead of time, but it's not like I'm screwing around, I'm graduating in May.

Yup, thats how it works. Not the schools fault, its a state decision.

I'll be graduating next moth with 164 hours, and never got tagged with the surcharge. Only think I can think of was that Im leaving with 2 majors and a minor, and they took that into account?

I know a girl who got the surcharge erased because she went to the accounts office and basically said she had to stay an extra semester because she couldnt get the classes she needed to graduate. They erased it for her.

Id go bitch and moan about it for a bit at the accounts office and see what they say.

Yeah, I'm going to try and go either tomorrow afternoon or Monday at lunch. I'm going to raise hell and maybe they will have sympathy on me.

Really, it is just one semester, two classes left. You would *think* they would understand and waive it for me.
