Hey y'all so I got my CB installed yesterday and I need to tune the antenna. The antenna that I have is a 12' whip that doesn't have an adjustment screw how do I tune this type?

I'm waiting on my buddy to borrow his meter. He is with his family right now who's visiting. He hasn't dealt with a non-adjustable antenna before. I got everything from dad when we had it back in the day in our old late 80's ram

As long as you have a good mount and everything is properly grounded most times these big whip antennas are pretty easy to setup.

Once you get the meter inline let us know what SWR is on Ch 1, 20 and 40.

Alright so got an update for y'all. I did get her tuned in today, come to find out there are 5 different modes that can be changed and 9 different band selections. Once I figured out what the correct band was it was fairly easy. Little tweaks here and there but everything is running good. It's about 1.1-1.2 for the SWR not to much variation (this is off the built in meter) not sure accuracy, my buddy didn't follow through.
ADD: the CB I have is a President HR-2510. I failed to mention that before.

Sounds like you are good to go. I would still check with an actual SWR meter.

Those big whip antennas are fairly broad banded and you will have fun with that radio.

I am already Alyssa new out some the guys talking in the morning on my way into work and these guys are funny as hell
