turbocharger/cold air intake

hey i have a cold air intake on my truck and i want to know about a turbo charger will it help me get more power or what also a friend sid that i would have to get rid of the air intake can i have both

sure you could put a turbo on most anything, but it isn't as simple as just slapping it on there and going for a ride.

as for a turbo AND a cold air intake, both at the same time are possible, but packaging it gets tight.

what vehicle are we working with here ?
 
Just make sure the turbos intake isn't going to be in a area where there is a ton a radiant heat. The intercooler is what needs to get the cool air more so than the intake(within reason). If you turbo something it can take thousands to get everything setup right and have the right fuel management. Plus it has to be the right combination for you application.

Are you thinking about a "cyclone" type air swirler that goes in your intake plumbing somewhere? I don't know of many non factory turbo setups that don't have a "CAI". Not to mention the $3k+ cost of a turbo setup for a non-turbo truck pretty much dwarves the price of a K&N filter.

But then, I guess we don't know what vehicle we're talking about here anyway.
