My Trepadors are getting really cupped on the lead edge, but have a huge set of fangs to bite with on the back of each lug. We are East coast wheelers, and spend 85 percent of our time in the dirt. Is there a particular reason why I should not turn them around backward, to get more bite, and more life out of the tire?

I think it would only help w forward motion, but lessen reverse traction. Maybe swapping one axle would be enough to notice while keeping some balance forward/back?

I vote to flip them around. Hell, I'll come help you do it.

I flipped my IROKS around backwards. I cant say I've noticed any difference in traction, forward or reverse so I say try it.

That's because they're Iroks. You could have turned them inside out with the same results. :flipoff2:

The reason you don't see people running directional V tread type tires backwards is because in general at least as far as ag tractor tires and old style claws went, they will load up with mud. I feel like it's worth a try though.

I had a set of 38.5x11.00 boggers on the Mangler. When they got cupped, I flipped them around, and they came back to life. I just wanted to make sure there wasnt some sort of crazy structural issues with heating them up in the wrong direction.

Maybe if they are street driven. I don't think you will have any issues.
