OK, I'm needing a TV lift for a project I want to do. Holy Crap! Nexxus21 wants $1,200 for a lift to move a $500 TV! I'm figuring a few heavy duty ball bearing drawer slides and some kind of lift mechanism right? I have 110volts and 12volts handy so this opens a few options up. I've thought about a power window lift for a car(quiet and fast), or a 12v trailer tongue jack(limited lift but strong) or a modified garage opener(remote would be nice). I did a search and found some from China on ebay for $500 but have been advised against these. I'm open to suggestions. What have you got in mind?

What about the electric rear window lift for 4runners and TUndras? You might be able to beef it up some to hold the weight.

We made one in my dads camper using the power rear window mechanism from an 86 k5 blazer...

What do you think about a ATV winch with wireless remote?

It would certainly be strong enough. Maybe a bit slow.

I once made a dumb waiter (elevator for groceries) using a garage door opener turned vertical.

My wife bought a Hooker TV lift cabinet a few years back. It is a 'Liftbox' brand lifter made in Hungary if that helps.

Winch no load speed is 13ft a minute, I think it would need to be slower. That is about 3ft in 15seconds, too fast I think. Possibly with a small snatch block might be right. Wireless remote would be nice to have and the hard wired switch as a backup.
