So whats the pro's /cons of each joint from real world use. They both claim to be the strongest but at 145 a piece for for D44 joints vs $4xx a pair I found for CTM what are you paying for other than maybe the name at that point

Are you installing new axle shafts? I've installed a set of D44 CTMs and they were solid joints with a ton of offroad usage to backing them up.

But I would buy the longs for 1/2 the price... Don't forget on a D44 you still have ball joints to keep up with..

Personally I'll be saving up for the D60 CV joints !!!!

I read that the cv style 60 joints get dirt inside them and you periodicaly have to take them apart to cleanum. I myself will be going with the 300m shafts and joints, But if your not running an after market knuckle it doesn't make much since to me to put 3ooo into a set of axles then have your 120.00 knuckle break and take those suckers out.

Josh,
I would buy Bobby's u-joints. Just make sure that you keep them well lubed with high quality Green style grease because with any of those u-joints, they are metal on metal so daily driving is very hard on them.

Not to worried about it since there not going in a DD rig. There going in a trailer queen I'm working on. Any reason why you would take the longs over CTM other than price

I have been very impressed with both. We have run OX joints, Yukons, CTMs, and Bobby's old joints. I have had varying luck with all. I have been impressed with some friends' experiences with Bobby's stuff and it has held up well.

I also like supporting the little guys........Jack at CTM is a great guy as well. For the price, Bobby's are def a better bargain.

i have chromoly axles in my d44 and have been trying to decide on joints for awhile. I don't know who bobby is but i would like to talk to him about his joints can you guys give me a link or phone # thanks

bobby long revolutionized the toyota world a few years ago and is working on doing the same to the rest of the 4wheeling world... some of the best parts that money can buy and at more than reasonable prices...

Running Longfields joints here with no problems a all. Coupled with a good set of alloy shafts, they're tough to beat for the price.

what about those new yukon super joints is anybody running those with some chromo axles, or heard anything good or bad about them

I run the Yukon Super joints with a set of USA alloy inner shafts and Dutchman stubs in my HP Dana 44. They have been holding up great for the 5 months I have been running them and 5 hard trips out to DPG and a few Uwharrie runs. I am running a 4.6L stroker in a Cherokee with 35s and occasionally use the skinny petal :)
