I need some good U-Joints i want the OX ones but they r off road only and i drive my both on and off road but its not a dd can any one tell me if they will be ok in my jeep or some joints i can go with. thanks Dustin

what u joints are you replacing?

the whole "off road only" thing is pretty meaningless if you are talking about joints that don't always spin (ie. manual locking hubs, front yj driveshaft, etc)

U-joints are designed to break before they tear something else all to heck. Unless you are having problems with u-joints breaking constantly, I wouldn't upgrade to a "bulletproof" u-joint until you "bulletproof" other parts as well.
Maybe that's just me though.

i just got yukon 4340 axles and i need some good joints

Probably just you. I don't believe in having an intentional fuse.

Ya sure about that? I've seen a few stubs go before the stock u-joint... like, oh, for example, Dana60. Besides, when u-joints break, they can tear up the shafts too.

WRONG. The hub is the fuse link. Also if the u-joint breaks it will take the ears on the shaft with it. Third, the OX joints are junk. Go with the Yukon Super joint or CTM

i'm happy with my super joints

I don't believe in having an intentional fuse either, but shallow pockets cause there to be some weak point.
I've seen a chromo shaft break because the u-joint broke, but if you had stock shafts and "bulletproof" u-joints, would that not likely be a bad combo?

He never said anything about being poor. He wanted to know what good u-joints are. Nice try though. :flipoff2:

Yukon D44 stubs vs. Warn hubs, not sure which will go 1st. I have seen Spicer 760s take a lot of abuse from locked diffs on 35-38s.

get the superjoints. my chromo stubshaft snapped before those bastards even whined about too much tire. something is gonna break so why not make it something easily fixable like a driveshaft. bulletproof your axles shafts up front all to hell.

they are both warrantied but if you break the ears off the yukon stuff because of a junk ujoint the warranty is void (i think)

:flipof2:
okay, who forgot they weren't on Pirate. Come on, who forgot? Who forgot an f? come on...
As for me, i would rather lose a hub. Something easy to repair and keep moving. A u-joint or shaft can be a pain.
But what do I know, I have a dana 30...
...with stock shafts!

He still never said whether or not he had manual hubs, or really anything about what he's got other than that it's an "axle". If it's a stock hub-less heep axle, run some spicer 760's and full circle clips...or maybe even the cryo'd version that people are selling.
