Some of you may remember hearing about an Ultra light going down at Raleigh East Airport in Knightdale a few weeks ago

Story with video, pretty scary stuff, think maybe when someone tells you there are issues, you might wanna check things out mo' betta !!

Especially when you know the engine isn't attaining desired operating speed.

He's lucky to be alive.

I didnt no an ultra light would just fall out of the air lke that. I thought a good pilot could glide one without a motor. I guess the key word being GOOD pilot.
 
Read his narrative - he was going 27mph, and was in a climb... wouldn't take but a moment to go into a stall without thrust...

Tough call, he was just over the trees anyway, not likely that pushing the nose over would have done much...
