Haven't seen one of those in years, such a rare find. Did you get a Nomex suit with that? Looks like the body is in good shape. Is there a fix you can do for gas tank protection?

PS Is the FSJ in the background parked due to excess gas consumption or is it broke?

OY! I didn't think there were still any of those self-propelled thermite grenades on the road. Be sure to put a big sign on the back saying "DANGER! HIGH EXPLOSIVES!"

:flipoff2:

Can you say fuel cell.... :D

Gets better mileage than my F-250HD by a long shot...

The FSJ truck in the back ground is a 68 Kiaser, original 350 Buick engine, 400 turbo and d 20. 5 lug 44's front and rear, closed knuckle. geared 4:56,
Loves gas! This used to be my Dad's truck before he died. Mom give it to me. Has a few issues, but runs really strong.

make sure that thing gets the 10 minute fuse, and what a FABULOUS color too.

upnover and sometimes under?

Nice car to build a "ricer killer" out of. I had a 1980 Pinto with a 2.8 from a late 70s Mustang II swapped in. There are plenty of performance parts for the 2.3 or 2.8. The 2.8 made it a Camaro killer back in the 80s when I had it. :D

Sweet pinto, would make an awesome 2.3 turbo swap project.
Josh
My built BMW M3 got dusted by a primer gray pinto with a 2.3 turbo (mustang svo motor) that was juiced up a bit. The guy who beat me was laughing his ass off..I tucked my tail... :(

Cool...

Reminds me of my buddies old car...years ago....he had a '73 Maverick "Grabber"...Lime Green, 3 on the tree, strait 6 with "Bat Eyes" on the hood......and "Side pipes".....

What a Chick Magnet!!!

I know the feeling he was having, I own a merkur xr4ti(same motor, rwd, ind. susp. all the way around) kind of looks like an escort and a saab or something mated and had a bastard child.
But people underestimate my lil car, nothing like dusting some over zealous owner of a glorified car with something down on cylinders and technology :D

A pinto is capable of being VERY light and it doesn't take much power from there. The 2.3 turbo engine is very strong, stock internals are good to at least 300hp and it doesn't take alot to get there. Mine is putting 170hp and 236 ft.lbs on the ground with nothing but a manual boost controller and a rigged up intercooler.

Chip, I don't know what your plans are for this car but if you decide to go this route, pm me and I can locate parts easily. I may have a stock turbo shortly as I have a holset hy35 for mine, just waiting to get head work done.

hmmmmmmmm I work at a automotive machine shop! We do a lot of performance work!

As of now, I plan on reworking the head and driving it, just a DD
