Gerald Henderson will probaly wish he didn't do that. It may not be the first go around this year but eventually I bet he pays for it. My dad is a Duke alum and I have spent time there, even with to games with him. Though I respect the education and even can respect the program the little rat built I feel sorry for you when he retires. Durham sucks and noone in their right mind will go there to play for Johnny Dawkins. Hate it for you but I will laugh when the times comes.

No offense to you personally, because you could have just been having a bad day when you typed this. But this kind of stuff is what I grew up with and why I became a Duke fan at an early age. I would have gone there if I had the cheddar (and the grades, but I prefer to reference the $ :lol: ) I respect what Dean did and what Roy is doing now. I actually like Roy a lot and most of the unc players. But a large segment of the unc fanbase.... :shaking: they might just need to relax and enjoy how good their teams are rather than focusing on hating Duke so much.

Henderson called Hansbrough and apologized shortly after the game. Hans was laughing about it in the locker room immediately afterwards. He's a tough guy. And, per Wayne Ellington, Hans agreed that it was just an accident and not intentional.

Coach K will not be retiring any time soon. But Dawkins does seem to be the favorite option as a replacement. The guy has been instrumental in landing several recruits, has NBA experience/connections and will have worked under K for nearly two decades by the time that happens. As a Duke fan, I'm not that concerned. Duke had great teams before K and will have them after K.
 
And to me the dialogue between the two fan bases is what makes the rivalry so great....:beer:

I did think it looked stupid when some of the girls (maybe guys, but I hope not) started crying after UNC lost. That just looks ridiculous, I was disappointed about that particularly, along with the defense Carolina played the last 3 minutes.

But anyhow, I'd probably pull for the Russians over the University of New Jersey at Durham.

It's weird that you dislike the NY/NJ area so much considering that UNC's first National Title in 1957 (not the pretend one from 1924) actually came under Frank McGuire, the scandal-ridden coach from NY, and an entire starting lineup of NY/NJ players that he recruited to come down to play in Chapel Hill.

And Duke's student population, while much smaller than UNC@CH's, is comprised of 15-20% North Carolina students. The rest, obviously, come from all over the world. Probably some from Russia too! :lol:

yea oh well....we've still had a good season so far......i just hate that we actually lost to duke.....we could lose the entire season for all i care as long as we beat duke......the MAJORITY of duke fans are asshats anyways....think theyre better than everybody
 
Without UNC's starting and backup point guard. Hell of an acomplishment:shaking: We'll see what the future brings. I think they both played like:poop:
 
as much as I HATE UNC, I cant say that it was a fair matchup...

the fact that Ty Lawson wasnt in did a number for UNC.
 
Duke is missing two players....Thier 7 foot center Zoubek and a good off the bench player Pocius. Layson would have been shut down like They did Green anyways!!! Your just using Lawson as an excuse for how sorry Carolina played!!!
 
Regardless what anyone says.. Duke outplayed Carolina @ Carolina... I mean everyone in the country's saying that.. I'd just like to see Memphis actually play someone decent...
 
yeah memphis is going to go undefeated..there isnt anyone in their confrence to beat them...not cool at all

It's funny, that's the impression I've gotten from Carolina fans my whole life. Weird how that works.



The heels would have fared a little better with Lawson, but most rational heel fans admit that it wouldn't have made much difference. UNC's defense just didn't have an answer for Duke's quickness and their outside shooters, Ellington and Green, couldn't get many open looks and bricked the ones they did get.

Zoubek actually played pretty well against Hansbrough last year. He frustrated him with his size on multiple possessions. Would've been nice to have him available to slow down his production, which was off the charts as usual. UNC had a MASSIVE advantage on the interior.

Not using LaWson as an excuse for them at all. Did they play bad? Yes Do they suck without Lawson? Hell yes, he runs the show better than any guard in the ACC. NOBODY in the ACC has, could or will shut him down, nobody can keep up with him to attempt that.

I had 5 friends over for the game, 2 of which were duke fans. I told them before the game that if they couldn't beat UNC without Lawson that they didn't deserve to be in the top 20. To say the least, I was not suprised with the outcome.

Duke shot the lights out for the better part of the game. Congrats.:beer:
