I was told they will file for me, then i was told that i need to go down to the unempl. office and apply.

Does anyone know what i need to do?..

This happened before and i got FU*#@& 3 weeks pay before.. Just trying to do better this time, and i know alot of people have been layed off on here might know exactly what to do?..

Thanks Alot!

Anyone need any Plumbing done let me know, been doing it for close to 8 yrs.

Applying online is much faster and smoother from what I've heard. www.ncesc.com

Applying online is definitely the way to go.Here's the Rub,you have to go to that website every Sunday and answer a brief questionnaire about if you worked that week or whatever.
You File for unemployment First then do your weekly thing the following Sunday, after that they will send you a Visa card in the mail and put money on it Every Monday,Assuming you file the day before.I know people who have been on unemployment for 2+ years.

Thats the way to go, online. When I was out of work ^^^^ is what I did. Had to go online each Sunday evening and answer like 4 questions and about once a month I had to answer about 4 extra "audit" type questions. Never a phone call about following up on job seeking, etc. Very easy. Almost so easy it was scary.

If you wait to file, that is OK, they can retro-activate your unemployment. I went like 3 weeks without filling out the questionaire and I finally did it and got all the $$$ from the prior weeks.

However, for a temporary layoff, it may be a little different. Never assume its a temp layoff and start looking for something else :)

I wouldn't ever rely on HR filing for you.

Part time unemployment, your employer must do it. At least that's been the case where I work? We're all on it and only have to fill out a timesheet if we don't work...
Full Time you would do it yourself. Part time unemployment, you still recieve any benifits your employer offers. And you don't have to report that you are looking for a job.

Good luck!
