I have blown a line on my 95 Trooper. The trouble is that the 95 Trooper doesn't have a cooler. The line runs from the front passenger side of the Tranny to the rear passenger side. Its an Automatic, 4WD, and is a rust bucket (hence the line blowing). I have called a few auto parts stores and they have no clue what I am talking about. Then they proceed to tell me that it is a line running to the radiator. I am not a complete moron, it is deffinately running backwards over the drive shaft and the back into the Tranny/ transaxle. I just need to know wtf to call this line so i can attempt to find a replacement. Bending a line under the car is not what I want to do, but I will if I have to.

some pictures might help us out.

Disregard, it was a cooling line. In the attempt to get a good pic I found out where I thought it went back into the Tranny up front was just a mounting bracket. I then traced it to the radiator. Advanced told me they have no cooling lines they can order does anyone have an idea what size line I need. It looks like 3/8's, but I am not sure.

I just googled, 1995 Trooper transmission lines. Might can search for more info there, + says line is 5/16th. If you can splice in a section of gas line; it will hold for a while. lol

Thnx man, but I am just going to tear it out. It is rusty as crap and the leak happened to be in the middle of a bend. Now on the off chance anyone has done this before, is there anyway I can get the line out without dropping the front Dif? There is a small bracket holding located directly on top of the Dif, I can see but can't get anything other than a finger to.

the parts stores should all carry 3/8" and 5/16" soft rubber line, there is specific ATF cooler line. Just cut the hardlines a foot or so before the radiator and tranny, slide the rubber over, double clamp, and carfully route the soft rubber line out of harms way.

it is prefered if you cut the line to splice in rubber, that you put a flare on each cut end(standard practice in my shop) (fired someone once for not doing it).

ONLY USE FUEL LINE IN AN EMERGENCY,

there is specific line for transmissions
