Lift is here.

Got the 2" BB from Rubicon Express. Seems pretty solid.

I ordered a pair of Quicker Disconnects (JKS). Those'll be here monday.

I think im going to go with 32x11.50 AT T/A BFG's.

For wheels, im going with the American Racing AR-767

I may need some help installing the Lift kit, as Ive never done anything like this before. Anyone around Hickory willing to lend a hand would be appreciated! All of our jackstands are under my dads 50' Ford

I'm sure there will be a few closer, but I'd be glad to help. I've installed a few BB's in the past. Sounds like a good combination you've got.

yea man, I would be happy to help. What part of Hickory? I am in Mtn. View.
Shot me a PM and I will give you my cell#.

Im off of 321, Northlakes area :)

It'll be just a bit, still need the tires.

Im gonna get them from 4WP, go pick them up with my moms Kia, and haul them back here so i dont have to align my heep twice.

You might consider a set of bfg clones from a place like town and country. It would definitely save you some money from even a price-matched 4wp set. Plus, you wouldn't have to deal with 4wpw...

4WP isnt any good?

Their website really blows, and, while I haven't had any direct experience with them, the couple folks I know who have had less than stellar experiences. Plus their prices aren't terribly competitive most of the time.

As for other options, you can often find pretty good deals on ebay for tires. And sometimes you'd be surprised by the deals local tire stores can cut you if they're willing.

IMO get the tires from 4wheelparts cause they offer the tire warranty to where if you screw up a tire you get free replacement, plus they do price matching, find the lowest price you can and take it to em they'll match it. 4wp can be a PITA sometimes, but if you don't be an ass to em they have pretty much taken care of me throu the stuff that was there fault, so I'm cool with em.

btw, if you wanna bring the jeep down to my place I'll give you a hand with it (got every tool you would need) if you'll give me a hand with some of my stuff afterward :driver:

oh and I say you flat fender the front, trim the rear a little and run 35's, buddy of mine did that with his, I was surprised but it works good

4WP wasnt that bad to deal with. One of the tires was mounted backwards, and they dealt with it just fine.

They didnt give me my lugs though, and I didnt realize it until we were just about back to Statesville, im hoping they will ship them out to me rather then having to drive down there again.

I also picked up a Steering stablizer while I was there. Figured with 150k on it, the old one needs to go away. I also hopped by the Rockshop and picked up a "new" steering box because mines leaking everywhere, and also 150k miles on it. Thanks Andy!

Wheels and tires look good. Cant wait to get em on there

Finally got all the parts together..

We rolled the new tires up against the old. The difference in height is insane. Considering the tires on it now are down to the wear bars, im going to see a pretty decent gain in GC.

Looks like someone's gonna have some fun! It's amazing what a difference a new set of wheels/tires will do on a rig. Much less with a couple of inches of lift.

On every BB I have installed on a TJ you have to open up the holes for the spacers as they are actually designed for the XJ/ZJ's spring mounts.

If you're willing to tote all that stuff up to me, I'd give a hand putting it together.

Id totally do it, but Kernersville is a bit far for me right now. Thanks for the offer though :)

Being that it seems like the help around Hky is scarce, i think im gonna go out and get the tools necessary to do this, and do it myself.

Nothing looks too difficult, and if I get the tools now, I can fix the shit I break when I need to.

the bb really is incredibly easy. It was one of the first lifts I installed and went seamlessly. just dont be like me and watch that coil lol. I learned that one fast : (

from what ive read, you jack up one side of the axle slowly to let the coil basically work itself out?

A buddy of mine did his by driving up on a large sewer vent kinda thing and pulled the springs out. Maybe not the safest way, but it was quick, easy, and worked well.

i started messing around with the kit last night, good thing I did.

The shocks needed a few small pieces put on, that I figured I could knock out in an hour.

yeah right. The rear shock bar pins are SQUARE at the end. That makes for a very easy installation through the rubber bushing that is tons smaller than the said square

Im just gonna grind it down to a bevel (like the front bar pins are). Dont think it'll cause too many problems. I dont understand why the rear bar pins arent the same as the front, go figure :shaking:

Got em through now. One bushing popped out, but I put it back in no problems.

I have been out of town for the week, but I am back now. If you need some help, let me know. I have a press at the house that makes the pins easy...

Thanks for the offer!

Go check out the thread in general discussion. I dont think you'd have wanted to TOUCH this jeep
