So my center console genuine imitation leather covering separated and let loose. So I ordered a pre stretched and formed real leather replacement. Now I typically feel I can do about anything I want, but I'm also smart enough to know that in order to get it right and look good the first time, to let someone who knows do it.

Anyone on here local to Trinity, High Point, G-boro area do upholstery work that can install this for me?

The guy who upholstered my old mustang is in Trinity... Let me look him up tomorrow.

It's just a simple stapler from Lowes. Look like standard T50 staples or something similar.
Nope. MUCH smaller. And I doubt you'd get into the corners with a regular staple gun. These staples are about 3/8" long with a leg about 1/8" long.

Not much I can't do or figure out how to do. But I do want this to be a clean job. The rest of the car is nice, I don't want to hack job it. But thanks.

Well, I said fuck it and tried it anyway. We do a lot of business with a local nail and staple supply house. I was in there picking up some staples for work and asked them about it. They came back with a box of staples and a pneumatic staple gun and said just bring back the gun when you're done. SWEET!

Ended up with a little bit of wrinkling around the front latch. But I'm happy for a first try.

With the exception of the color being a touch off, I think it looks great! The wrinkles may smooth out over time once the leather gets acclimated to it's new home. And even if it doesn't, who cares?!?!?! You saved some cash in the process and figured out something else you can do for yourself. Go buy yourself a beer or two with the money you saved.

$16 for the leather from Amazon. ya, it's a little off, but doesn't hurt me.

Where'd you get the kit? I already have the gun, just need the right staples.
Staples are from Piranha Nail and Staple in Greensboro. They gave me the box of 5000 staples and said they didn't need it, just bring back the $140 gun. If you need the staples, you can have them. I'll hold a few sticks for myself JUST IN CASE. These are a 70 series staple with a 5/32 (4mm) length. Just let me know if you need them.
