URE 9-25 & URE 10-9 pics

I'm always late getting pictures up from wheelin' trips but here are pictures from my last 2 trips to URE.

9-25

This trip was great, I took my Dad along with me and together we tackled some good trails. I started off with Wolf's Den and quickly got onto Falls Dam.

Somehow, I ended up on Dutch John by accident but had absolutely no problems on the trail.

After some good wheeling, me and my dad went to the Outpost for lunch where we both enjoyed some good hotdogs.
Afterwards, we headed back through Wolf's Den and then I took him up to see the Soup Bowl. We watched for a bit, waiting for someone to get stuck. The waiting finally paid off:

After some more watching and careful observing of the deep spots, I decided to try my hand at the Soup Bowl. I started off in the shallowest of areas and gradually progressed my way deeper into the soupy waters.

After some fun, we decided to stay around a little longer and watch some other people go through. Yet again, the Soup Bowl claimed another victim. But this guy was determined to beat it. After being stuck, he immediately got right back in his Jeep and went right through where he got stuck again. He did this 3 times and finally gave up.

So after watching him for a bit we decided to head out and call it a day. We arrived back home around 9:25 that night.

This trip was by far, the best URE trip to date. I met up with John (JC) around 9:10 at the Outpost. After he aired down, we quickly hit the trails for a full day of wheeling.
We started off with Wolf's Den and afterwards we headed towards Falls Dam, but not before I made a quick stop at the Soup Bowl.
After a nice run through Falls Dam we decided to take Dicky Bell, a trail that I had never been on before. I was a bit weary of going at first but knowing I was with someone as experienced as John, I decided to go for it.

After a while, I was treated to a nice show at Kodak Rock.
(Forgive me here if I'm mixing Dicky Bell with Daniels)

After finishing Dicky Bell, John headed towards Daniel. As soon as he mentioned he wanted to go through Daniel, my heart skipped a few beats. He told me the only trouble I would run into was the first ledge. After some thinking it over, I decided to go for it.
What was I thinking? Taking a stock JK sitting on 31" A/T tires, I must be crazy.
After a few minutes on Daniel, I hit the first good obstacle:

John told me to be careful here as it's very easy to slide into the wall. Luckily, I picked a good line and went right through here with just a couple inches to spare on the driver side. A black TJ had just fallen into the wall a couple minutes before we got there. He had busted out his driver side rear glass and made a nice dent in the A pillar. Right around the corner from this was what seemed to be like an impossible area for me to go through. When we got there, the black TJ mentioned above was already progressing its way up the ledge. Look closely and you'll be able to see the busted glass and dented A pillar.

After he made it up, it was John's turn to go. I don't recall him having much trouble getting up the ledge. Now, it was my turn.
It was a weird feeling to be the center of attention there on Daniel. But I slowly crept my way to the beginning of the ledge and gave it my all. After some tire spinning and some rubber burning I radioed John and told him I wasn't going to make it up alone. So he hooked a recovery strap to the front of my Jeep and gave me a nice pull right on up the ledge. I couldn't believe it, I was on Daniel. But of coarse, not without the help of John. Thanks John!
We made our way to the 2nd ledge and I was able to make it part way up but the 2nd part of the ledge caught me and again, John had to break out the recovery straps and give me a little tug.
We continued on through Daniels and for the rest of the way, recovery straps were never needed again. My stock JK, along with a little help, had reached the top of Daniels. *A place I never thought I'd be at.* It was an amazing feeling, I had seen pictures of this place but here I was, taking pictures of my own Jeep at the top of Daniels.
We continued on for a bit when John decided to stop. I got out and he began talking to me about the importance of airing-down and he also told me about what the differential does, he talked to me briefly about lockers, and then gave me a lesson on brake-pedal-modulation.

From this point on, it was smooth sailing. At least until I found myself up on 3 wheels

And again, I found myself at the center of attention. At this point, I was a bit nervous at the fact that I was only on 3 wheels. As soon as I felt the back tire lift, everyone is yelling "woah watch out..." etc. It was quite thrilling to be at the perfect position for a good 3 wheel picture. I heard people around me saying "man, he braked at the perfect time..."
After John snapped a few pictures, he and several other people came over to weigh the left side of the Jeep down and I proceeded out of that position.

A little further down the trail, I found a small piece of Heaven for me. It was a nice mud and water filled track that I couldn't even begin to resist.

But after making my way through 3/4th's of the track, I found myself stuck.

At this point, I was trying the method of BPM John had told me about just minutes before, but I was stuck pretty damn good. So John backed up to where he could reach me and gave me a little tug off of the dirtmound I was stuck on.

At last, we finished Daniels and made out way over to the Outpost. John decided to call it a day at this point and headed back home. After a quick bite to eat, I was on my way back to Dicky Bell for a last run before it was time for me to leave.
I heard some people not too far ahead of me on the trail so I knew I wasn't far from any help. I did have a little trouble on one area of the trail and managed to slide back into a nice rock-filled wall, denting the the rear bumper on the driver side. I was finally able to make it past this area and made it to where I wanted to be.

After watching a few people go through this area, I was treated to a really nice sunset.

I ended up leaving around 7:45 after finishing Dicky Bell.

October 9th was a great day. I'm so glad I was able to meet up and go wheel with JC and the experiences I had that day were unforgettable.
I'd like to give a special thanks to JC who helped me along the way and taught me some valuable things.

Great pics. I've never been to URE. I guess there are some trails my truck could do without much armor.

There's plenty of trails you could do without armor. Most of it depends on your ride height, wheel base length has a factor in it too.
There are plenty of mounds you could easily bottom out on if your wheel base is too long.

I've been hooked way before I even got my Jeep.
Hopefully in 2 years I'll AT LEAST have 2.5" lift, BFG Mud-Terrains, Rugged Ridge Modular XHD Bumper, Warn 9.5ti winch, and much more
