I'm planning on going.
Gotta take advantage of the 4 day weekend!

This weekend I hope to get the t-case skid done, and then i can wheel harder and try out the new front crossmember/towpoints without fear of splitting my alum tcase

I love to go NOW with all the rain!

I am thinking about going that day as well.

Sounds great what Day are you going down? Friday,Sat or Sunday. I'm up for about any day. Also it will give me an excuse to map the Uwharrie Trails with my new GPS.
We went down two weeks ago right after I traded my 20 year old YJ for a brand new 06 TJ. I broke the 500 mile mark playing in the mud hole. The pictures are below.

Is yours the rubi or the yellow x?

I've also been wanting to use my gps to map trails, but never really spent the time to figure it out.

SHould there be a set time/place to meet like maybe friday morning @ 10:30 @ the outpost?

It's gettin' kinda cold at night to camp out, especially when i live about an hour away, anybody plan on being there more than 1 day?

I will being getting there around 10 AM friday morning, camping friday night, and saterday night on Wolfden (one of the quietter trails at night) If anyone is up for camping let me know, I do not have to be on wolfden, I just find it quiet

we will have a group of about 6 or 7 xj's and a couple tj's there friday, sat. and some will be there on sunday too. we will be at group camp.

We should get a spot at one of the group camps. I can bring my trailer and a lot of wood for a great big bon fire in one of the pits. We should start a list of who is actual coming and spending the night:

Brad A 06 TJ Camping
Mike S Passenger Camping
Craig W 04 Rubi Camping
Amanda H Passenger Camping

Ok PurpleTJChick a camp site is $12.00 a night and we can get about 3 tents on one site. Can you swing $4.00?
:)

4 bucks a night? I can handle that :) There might be 1-2 more tents with me... Is there anyway they can get a site? who do they need to talk to? (or should I kick them to the crub and take full advantage of a cheap camp site ??)

The only reason I say get a site as opposed to primitive camping is:

I have a trailer to pull behind the jeep to carry all the camping stuff and a load of firewood to help keep us warm at night. I think I might have a hard time pulling a trailer along the trail with me.

So if the decision is made to go primitive then I will leave the trailer at home and we are down to scavenging for wood to burn.

If we want to get a camp together, I will make the reservation if I can get a true count of who is going and how many tents we are going to have.

any trailer you can pull behind a jeep would have little to no problems going down wolf den to a good campsite.

If a good size group is going (and it sounds like we got a good start), and you are making reservations, mark me down for Friday night. 1 tent, 1 truck, and probably a passenger.
If the weather gets too cold, or rainy, I'll just drive home and back down Sat, it's only 1 hr. And at about $4, it's worth holding the spot.

Well after checking ReserveUSA.com the group camps are all taken for the thanksgiving weekend. I guess it wolf den for all.

Bummer. We should at least choose a place to all meet on firday.

I'll be there that weekend and I'll more than likely be in arrowhead campgroud. It'll just be me and my truck/trailer in the site if anyone wants to split a site. Plenty of room for tents as I'll be sleeping in the truck. Pitch a tent on my trailer if you want, I don't mind

If its cool, I might be bringing my 82 toy for its madien run. I'd like to run with a group. Theres allways the chance of breaking and I'd like to be with others, It will be trailered in so I'd have to leave my tow rig and trailer somewhere.
