Hey I was up there this weekend and brought my parents and sister along. It was a really nice weekend. We saw OHV_kj and his group on rocky Mount. I got some videos and pictures i will put up when i download them.

well fyi... right now i'm on some 35/16/15 boggers that i picked up for fun...and i sold my roof rack...but i'm sure i'll be the only sas liberty out there...lol...this is what she looks like now... it looks less top heavy for sure...

There is one of those liberty's with the sas, on the cover of one of the 4wheel drive mag's with 36's and unless it's yours you don't have the only one anymore.

It is his. I asked him if that was his this weekend when i saw it.

That is pretty cool then, I was at the parts store and just happen to see it in the mag when I was in line, and his thread awhile back about having the only one was the 1st thing I thought of I skimmed through it real quick tring to see anything about being from NC but I guess I missed it if it did say.

Hey 89wrangleryj, thanks for the pictures! One of the 3 things I forgot was my camera! That's a clean XJ, by the way, mine used to look like that ;)

Hey OHV KJ Sorry we missed you on the trails. We passed you on our way out to head to the house. We will have to set up another run.

Your jeep looks damn good going by at 30 MPH. LOL My front bumper and fenders were rubbing the tires pretty good with the new lower ride height. Also the bolt on the high steer arm was rubbing the driver side spring and binding up prohibiting full flex. So after some cutting and adjustments I will Be heading back up to test her out again. Also put another nice trail kiss on the passenger side rocker so the sliders have moved up a few notches on the list.

Have fun, I look forward to seeing your ride on Kodak next time out.
Dave

lol...well i tell you...kodak and i didn't like each other this go around... i couldn't get it to bite anywhere...must be the boggers...lol?? i don't know...i think i'm looking for some other tires... btw i like how you were passing that car on the rd...i go "look at this idi, oh...lol ok then" lol i try to get up there some time next month maybe

Next time you have to get out there earlier, missed seeing the KJ in action (and on Dickey Bell really didn't count). The only truck we get to see on Kodak was a black Yota on IROKs. The only other thing of interest was a bone stock brand new looking red JK that had 3 kids in the back heading up for a line on Kodak. I don't think they had been to URE before because they ended up doing a 10 point turn and headed up the bypass. The guys in the black yota got a video of it so I am sure it will turn up on youtube sometime. Was still cool getting to put some names to faces. I know we passed the black and red cherokee at one point also.

Fun time at URE

It was a spur of the moment thing, and me and some friends went to URE Saturday Morning about 10:30ish til 4ish.

My first time out EVER....what a fun time...I think I saw many of the NC4x4 guys on the trail.

We we all mostly first timers and made it out without any war wounds...other than some dirty jeeps

97 Red TJ (Stock) - ME
08 Burgundy JK 4dr (Stock)- Friend & his wife
94 Green YJ (4' lift) - Friend and his son with buddy
08 White TRD Tacoma (Stock)- Friend & his wife

Thanks for all those that gave advice of what trails to stay off of until we get some experience etc.

I'm hooked now I guess...hmm....

I have video of you guys backing up Dickey Bell (well all of you except the first Jeep that went down all ready). I was the (very) tall guy in the black shirt that suggested doing Rocky Mount Loop to Saw Mill, and airing down first. The guy in the Gold 2 Door Raider and the guy in the dark red full size dodge also talked to you guys, I think we offered to lend an air gauge to the driver of the white Taco. Glad you guys had a good time. We ran across ohv_kj shortly after seeing you guys. Guess it was a good thing we stopped for lunch there.

YUP...indeed...you saved us!!! Thanks again.

RE:

Hey guys,

I do have some video of Kodak rock. I actually have great video of other guys going up and I grabbed horrible video of my own truck with Alex driving go figure.

Hey KJ Alex said you guys talked after this weekend. I didn't pass anybody by you, but that said we did blow by this sh** h**d that was doing 10 on the way out and wouldn't move over. I will try and get the vidoe posted up today. So when are we all heading back out???

yup, i remeber seeing you you guys...shortly after passing you as i was going down, my rear driver side brake hard line blew so i had to limp it back w/ front brakes and fix it... fixed and was good to go... i'm thinking oct for me as the next trip... oh sapper...that's what i was talking about...lol...

Hey its better to know when to back up and turn around than just go for it and end up having body damage etc. I will bet the ride was just a tad softer/less bouncy after airing down, not to mention the traction a bit better too. :driver:

If you guys are out there again and see us on the trails don't be a stranger.

(And trust me you guys weren't the only first timers, was the first time for Roddy in the Dodge Ram that was with us.)

ohv_kj nice meeting you Saturday. We were the group that stopped you in Arrowhead.

89 Wrangler YJ it was nice meeting you out there as well. Funny watching that group on Kodak.

The rest of the guys we ran into cool meeting you. (KJ dudes)

I was the one in the black TJ with whitneyj, a blue 4 door jk, green YJ on 31's and the Grand Waggy.

Dave and Alex it was cool hanging with you guys and Dave stop BS'ing with the videos. You're on vacation. :flipoff2:

We spent 5 hours playing on Kodak Saturday. Then had to move campsites and do some repairs. So that was it for us Saturday. We ran a couple trails Sunday then headed back to Jacksonville.
