A friend and I are thinking on going to URE this weekend. Who wants to tag along? To be honest, as bad as I hate to admit it, I need a guide. I have been to URE several times, but was in a long line on VERY dusty trails. SO I really don't know my way around. Also, some good info on where to camp would be great too. Primitive is fine(no hook ups) As I will be sleeping in my van. So enough room for several people with tow rigs and trailers would be great.

well your 1 weekend to far out for me I'm going this weekend (memorial) if you can make it your welcome to join us

I might be able to run that weekend, but my knowledge of the trails is a bit rusty... been staying on some easy ones while i get reacquainted with the trails now, as its been 7 years since i went wheeling out there. But I am sure that a few other will be chiming in after this weekend to say whether they are going or not…

If I'm not already on a plane I plan on being there that saturday.

Edit: I'll be in Kuwait by then, Have fun in the dust bowl!

I've been more times than I could ever count and still don't know my way around there very well, it's hard to make a mental landmark on dusty groomed trails. Still fun to go every now and then.

Hmmm...gotta check. Think might be that weekend or the next weekend we're kinda plannin. Last trip was cut short by blown motor!

Im going. gonna be with my RC crawling club in the am, but i got all afternoon for wheeling. Look for the group of guys with the kick ass remote control rock crawlers!!

I'm probably gonna be there Fri. night and Sat AM with the wife. I'm a novice wheeler but have been there a couple of times. Most of the wheelin crowd seems to stay at Arrowhead campground but you can camp anywhere that isn't marked to the contrary. I know there are at least 1 or 2 places, unmarked, primitive, along 576 big enough for a couple of tow rigs. They have camping info and trail maps at http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/recreation/uwharrie/. If we make it, we'll be in a green '78 f150. Keep an eye out! I'm afraid it's going to be very dusty this weekend.

yeah, i was there sunday, VERY dusty. i'll be there again in a silver discovery.

I think I will be heading up to Mnt City instead. Our club has a work weekend to get the place ready for the SOuthern Event the following weekend. So, I won't make it to URE this weekend
