Hello, I have never been to URE and I dont think im too far from there. But can you ride 4 wheelers in URE? And how do you get to URE?
Thanks

Are there many 4 wheelers out there? And also when the clubs meet there to ride do they usually stop and camp?

Oh yeah, they're like flies out there. If you go out there with your four wheeler do everyone a big favor and stay on the damn trails. Four wheelers tearing up crap off trail is a big problem out there.

And wear your helmet, and don't ride two-up, etc...basically, check up on the rules first. They will give you a ticket if you break 'em. Yeah, there's plenty of 4-wheelers and bikes in Uwharrie. I don't mind 'em, as long as they're as respectful to me as I am to them. Stay on the trails. Don't pass until I let you. And if I got there first, wait for me to finish. I'll pull over for you to get around, don't worry.

You are 1.5 hours away....150 to 152 to 49 to 109...I think. Just google it. It is 90 miles from Maiden I live here also.

The Uwharrie National Forest is open for 4x4 Trucks, ATV's, Horses, Mtn Bikes, & Hiking. The Off-Road Vehicle trails are open from April 1 to ~Nov/Dec. The park is located on Highway 109 approximately 30 miles South of Thomasville, NC or 7 miles North of Troy, NC.

Mapquest says to take 70E to I40E to US-64E to NC109S and puts it at about a 2 hour trip from Maiden, NC to Uwharrie, NC.

Looking at the map, it also looks like you could take 321 to I85 and take it up until you hit NC49 and then hit NC109. <--This will take you through Charlotte, though.

That's how I look at it, too. Whoever is at the obstacle first has the right of way, unless they give you the go-ahead. There is no need to make anyone feel rushed when you are out there. If you have somewhere to be, then you might as well go ahead and head back to camp.

I think they made it to where you have to wear goggles now (on atv's) and you are not allowed to ride at night unless you have working head/tail lights.
