URE Sat 12th

I'll be there Saturday but not going to camp. I'm bringing the Sami (blue with 36's) and driving my gray Chevy CC. I'm going to try and make the Outpost by 9 but if not I'll be parking in the lot at the beginning of Daniel.

I didn't know you were going to make it, is Ed tagging along with the Bronco too? Joe put 44"s on the Trooper? I will have to see this, will be a big step up from the 36" IROKs he used to have. Janet will be disappointed if he brings the Trooper, she doesn't like riding in it. But we will see I guess. I will be getting to the outpost around 9am, plan to be by the campgrounds by around 9:15.

just calm down Eli,talking about his dana 44 axles.

yea,Joe told me earlier this week that ya'll were playing war games.Cut his time out repairing one of his race rigs so he is taking the burgundy trooper on 44s.They are camping in arrowhead. We are shooting for 8 or 8:30 eta at the Outpost.Holler out if you see a green Willys being pulled by a older f350 work truck.

Well we got done with our war games early tonight so I should be driving home early this morning and getting the yota on the trailer!

When I had read 44s I automatically assumed 44" tires  . 36" IROKs are still more than plenty for the Trooper.

HAHA!I did the same thing I thought Sgt Darlington had already gone and put 44's on his trooper didnt think of dana 44's!Well raider I have been trying to get up with yall for awhile hope I see yall up there.I am planning on being at the outpost by 9!

Yeah i know it man i was looking for yall!I was ta the outpost right at 9 and met alot of people. It was wet and nasty out there today but had a good time,i got a few videos and got one of my buddy rolling his samurai on kodak!Ill see when I can get them up!

Hey BigBen, I think we ran into you on Daniel. Where you with the guy in the red Samurai?

Sapper, were you the other guy in the black Yota that we ran into on Daniel?

I was driving the white Sami on 32's, and my buddy was driving the white Sami with the motorcycle engine.

Danny

Daniel

Yeah buddy that as me. We actually wheeled the rest of the trails with no issues. There are a few not so nice noises coming out of the front suspension but hopefully it will be getting torn out and linked and coiled in the off season anyway. How is your wheel? Salvageable?

I hope to catch you guys around when URE reopens you guys are a trip to wheel with.

Dave

Dave,

Yeh, I think the wheel can be fixed. I just need to beat it back into a little more round shape and it should hold air. Glad you got to wheel the rest of the day. We went back to the truck and put my spare on and came back and I attacked the ledge somemore. I eventually gave up and had to take the strap up. See you around man.

Do you think if instead of bald 32" generic ATs, you had 34" LTBs, you would've made it up the ledge?

I don't know, but we will see come April! That ledge keeps growing in height, and my 82" wheelbase was standing me up pretty good unloading the front end.

Yeah man that was me!Thanks for the help and getting my buds tire back seated.I loved watching you slam into that ledge haha!Glad you got your spare on and kept wheeling!I have some video of you trying to get up the ledge i will try to get them on here tonight!

I was at the outpost at 9:45 so I must have just missed you guys. Anyone run into the Isuzu group (there was a Maroon Trooper on 36" IROKs SAS'd that you can't miss) on Saturday? I was with them earlier in the day when we did Falls Dam. We were the guys around 11am sitting there with the 2 SAS'd Troopers, a couple Jeeps, and a few other trucks right at the 2nd mud pit (not the soupbowl but the double ledge pit). A guy in a Yota gave us a valve stem, which saved the day. If he is on here a big thanks goes out to him. With some JB Quick Weld and about 30 minutes later we were back on the trails. If anyone tried to do Daniel right before dark you may have seen them also. They didn't make it up the first ledge, so they turned around.

Can't wait till next year!

I saw the red trooper. Noticed him because I've seen him around before at URE.

You remember back in October (it was a Saturday) at the double ledge (right before kodak) on Rocky Mount. Loop you wedged yourself against a tree and winched a white Isuzu Rodeo up the last part of the ledge? That is the same guy (JoeD) that owns the Maroon Gen 1 Trooper on 36" IROKs. If it was a Gen 2 red trooper on TSLs then it was FTen, which was with us also.

Here is us sitting on Falls Dam (my truck, 2 jeeps, and the rest of the group are out of picture on the other side of the mud pits):

(Left to Right, Grey Isuzu P'up is Van, Maroon Gen 1 Trooper is JoeD, Red Gen 2 Trooper with only 3 tires is FTen, Red Rodeo with black hood is Street/Ditch Doc/Peter)

I'm talking about the red gen 2 trooper. He was also on the double ledge that Saturday. By the way, the double ledge is extremely easy now! lol Not sure why it was so hard that day unless it was just the rain.

Had a great time out there, sorry we missed you again Ben. There were a bunch of black SAS'd Yotas out there but I didn't see yours. There is always next year.

I was the light blue one you passed in the creek on Dickey Bell. Thanks for asking if I needed help. I didn't know if my boys were coming back for me or not, but after I got out and got back on the road I saw them coming for me. luckily it didn't give me any more trouble after that, but I'm still highly considering a 5 speed swap after this past weekend out there.

Yeah that day my truck, FTen in the 2nd gen trooper, peter in the Rodeo with black hood, Joe in white rodeo (versus the Maroon Trooper he had this past Sat), and the rest of the group were there that day. And the rain makes a HUGE difference as far as difficulty goes. It turns some of the obstacles impassible.

Glad everything turned out good for ya. Last thing you want to do is end up stuck out on the trails. Almost happened to me back in 07 during April when it poured down one Sunday. Was on Dutch John in the middle of the downpour, not a fun thing to do on 31" A/Ts back then.

I am sure I ran across other guys on here, at one point I was driving around looking for a gold Montero that was supposed to show up (was asking on Channel 5 also). Asking every rig I came up on if they had seen it. Ends up they were stuck behind a group of Rovers having a couple issues on Falls Dam. The Series III, Defender, and Disco that were at the outpost around 9:40am.

My CB shorted out, and my cell phone was almost dead. Got to learn how important trail communication can be.

it was a good atempt @ it though ,, i was with lorenzo just in front of you ,,, I cant believe i didnt make it up unasisted,, that sucks,, :wheel:

I'm glad I could help out with the valve stem, we had a great time after wheeling friday night and all day saturday. Then we hit kodak rock saturday night and shattered my LF hub and the blue yota with me (Will aka country boy) busted a front driveshaft Ujoint. But we were done anyways, it was nice to see and meet some people.
