URE shenanigans?

I was there last weekend..didn't see any trash, or idiots. Even the folks coming the other way, on the dirt roads, seemed to slow down as to not make much dust.
We even shot a few hundred rounds through various guns at the range. Everybody there was nice and courteous. With several folks offering up their weapons for me and other strangers to shoot.

Not sure what the hell is happening out there.

Broke all the wheel studs on the driver front of my brothers xj heading down the road from art lilley to dutch john.

On saturday I witnessed a zj pushing a yj up a section of trail. Not something I normally see on a daily basis...

It also seemed to be a bad weekend for anyone who has a 4.0 in their jeep. I lost count of the various engine troubles I saw.

We were driving down the road after messing around in the mud hole. Since it was Sunday afternoon and no one was around we were carving up the road rally style(just much slower) when the front dropped. I though we had peeled off a bead, but it was much worse. From the looks of how the lug holes in the wheel were egged out I think the lug nuts came loose and caused the studs to break.

Lol. I saw pictures on facebook of a XJ that was burned on the trails. Allegedly opening weekend.

Saturday night when we were heading back to camp (Roughly 4 am) we were flagged down on the gravel road by 2 women (No vehicles nearby). We pull over and hear screaming from the woods and the girls start to explain how their husbands are drunk and one of them decided to wander off through the woods and took a nasty fall. They believed his leg was broken. He was refusing help. Both guys were super drunk marines.
We managed to do a ghetto splint with a piece of wood and a ratchet strap I had in my xj then carried the guy to the road. He was maybe 50-60 feet into the woods.

Guy proceeded to cry while we called EMS. Sheriff arrived first and was very helpful. Told us a few stories about how this kind of crap happens atleast 3-5 times a year. EMS had kind of the same story. EMS cut his jeans off while he cried about them being his favorite pants.

So there is a shenanigan for you fellas to enjoy.
 
We went up on Sunday and it was as muddy as I have ever seen it! Dickey Bell has gotten pretty rutted out so it took us a while to get 10 people through plus we had to clear about 5 rigs in front of us that needed help because they were in over their heads.

I did the same thing at URE inmy old ZJ, now I carry extra studs and check the torque on my lug nuts frequently.

Yeah. We had a huge group and several issues. Admittingly, we plugged the trail at a few points but worked out best to clear the path. Friday night we got back to camp as the heavy rain hit. Saturday all day was just pure slop. My little beater XJ took 7 bucks at the coin wash and still was gross. Glad we welded the diff before the trip haha

I think we ran into some of your guys up on Dickey Bell. GC with a busted rear axle, a JK, and a tall TJ with roof rack?

Yeah. That would be Logan's ZJ. Nice enough kid. Broke the same shaft on Daniel friday night. They didn't tell anyone they were planning to keep wheeling or we would have left the other 35 shaft. Most of us headed out around noon from Camp and we never really wheel on Sunday because we came down Thursday.
I liked the rigged up chain contraption.
The JK would be my buddy Cody.
White TJ would be Old Scott. (Don't think it had a roof rack, but what do I know)
I've got some pictures they sent me. The Chain fix made me chuckle.

One of them that was without his rig was taking vids of us. I was in the Green Jeepster.

Yeah probably so. He was saying "I'll take videos if you come up the middle" Well I came up the middle and then later went to him to give him my contact info so he could share and he was acting like he got them for himself , not me! :D Not a big deal, I've seen plenty of vids of me, lol but thanks

Lol. Pretty much identical form to Friday night. Hook a winch to the jeep so it doesn't roll. Rig it up.

I'll see about those videos.
