USB Port will only charge Iphone but wont play music. 07 Accord

As most know, I am pretty low tech. Finally got a car new enough to play my music off my phone. I think.

07 Honda Accord.

Has a usb port in the dash, but when I plug in my Iphone, It will charge it, but wont let me play music?

I had the same issue with my Kenwoods and a cheap ebay usb cable. Try another cable?

Maybe its because your car doesn't want to listen to hipster music from your hipster phone?

Does the manual/Honda state that it will play music from a phone? In my Dodge it will play through iphone, but just charge android. Our 08 accord had a line-in port in the center console that we had to use to play music. Cant recall if it had a usb port though.

Otherwise, I would check the cable. The smaller/thinner/cheaper cables could only have pins connected to charge the phone and not use the data connections in the port.

My neighbor came over and said its aftermarket. I guess Ill take it to Freemans or somewhere and check it out.

Hater.I was listening to Hipster Music way before Hipster music was popular.

Your car was designed and built before the iPhone was announced to the public.

So.... probably not compatible.
