Uwharrie First Run (April 7th-11th)

There will be a couple groups up at Uwharrie including a Rover group, but the one most of us will be riding with is the group from PlanetIsuzoo. We will be staying at Arrowhead, we all ready have 8 campsites reserved (including the double sites) and the list is growing so get your sites reserved ASAP. Everyone is invited from stock trucks to buggies, and from Isuzu's to Mitsubishi's. While the trip for some starts Wednesday the 11th most of the crowd will be there for Friday then 9th and Saturday the 10th. Our group isn't as big as it usually is, but right now we are at about 15-20 rigs. The more the merrier! :beer:
 
Weather permitting I'll be at my usual place, stop by and get fed up with Your Hot Dog Guy!
 
im not part of any group but plan on being at uwharrie the weekend of the 9th 10th 11th april. stock (mostly) cherakee with 3inch lift. ive been there before but this time im bringing the wife and two small girls that have never been off road other than the beach and never camping. what is a better spot arrowhead or baldin and a good camp sight. also i gues there will be plenty of people around if i get myself in a mess but it would be good to have someone to look for to guide and follow. thanks for any help. :driver:
 
Badin Lake C.G. is sort of like the low rent district of the 2 campgrounds.Arrowhead is much nicer and Janet( the host) is like the queen of the roost and is very helpfull and nice.
 
^^^^ Jimmy has it right, Arrowhead is the place to stay while at Uwharrie. Here is the link to reserve sites online:

And you are more than welcome to tag along with our group, there are a couple Jeep guys including Jimmy (ord.sgt.26NC) in his flatfender (You going to show for this trip?), Joe Darlington's cousin drives a Cherokee, and a couple others that show bring friends with Jeeps usually. Our main campsite is number 27, that is where you will be able to find all of us. I can PM you my cell if you want also. :beer:
 
:shaking:thanks ill be looking out i just reserved 24 and we will be there on the 9th looking around before getting to the camp at 4. i want the girls (all three) to have a good first time so they will want to come back. or maybe they should have a bad time and then i dont have to bring them again.

They should have a good time, there are usually at least a couple guys that bring their families. We even had a trick or treat setup from campground to campground during our fall/oct trip for the kids. We have a campsite map to help keep up with were everyone is. Anywhere you see a Red or Gold Isuzu logo is site we have:

So you will actually be right next to one of the sites we have reserved, a guy that brings his son(s) with most of the time has it.
 
eli you know ill be there(follow you most the time) might even have the pops in his own cherokee.
 
Since you guys booked up most of the arrowhead campground, just kidding, do you have room for my 28' land yacht on one of your spaces? We were planning on heading down on Wednesday afternoon and staying through Saturday night if we can find a spot. The family and I would love to get out there that weekend. I talked to Joe D. about this but haven't heard back yet so I thought I'd post up here.
 
I'll be there. Have to pick up my TJ from arrowhead where it got left all week due to having to trailer another rig home instead ( long story). I get off work Sat morning and will be leaving straight from there provided nothing happens and should be there around noon. If I get some wheeling time in I'll try to track the usual crowd down on Daniel and Rocky Mount if I don't see you guys in camp.

Hotdogguy I think we met briefly on Daniel last weekend. I was in the blue TJ stuck behind the red one going downhill everyone kept piling out of moving all the rocks and stopping traffic instead of letting us pass
 
There's going to be a lot of guys from wheelindixie.com there this weekend as well. I'm headed to Harlan this weekend, but you guys have a great time at URE.
 
Yeah I started that thread on wheelindixie. not sure how many will actually make it. Like usual things come up. i am looking forward to it. i will have extra room on my site for another rig or tent.

It looks like with all the rain URE is gonna be crazy this weekend! Funny how previous weekend is dead dry hot and this weekend will be slick and cool! Can't wait to see the pics boys
 
Im going to be up there the Fri afternoon till sat night. I will be with about 6 rigs camping on rockymt loop more then likely. If you see a campfire buring up on that campsite on the hill to the left then come on up and join us wheeling. I will keep my CB on 5 so if anyone needs help then holler.
 
Btw On Saturday My group will be meeting at the outpost around 9 - 9:30am to eat breakfast and meetup with guys who didn't camp. If anyone sees us and wants to join just ask. The more the merrier! My name is Kevin and have a white XJ.
 
Im headed up right now. Just headed up with some friends hopefully i see some of yall up there. Were camping out side of camp lilly up by the new parking lot. See yall there

got back last night, had a good time, well, I didn't get shot at or cussed out so it might have been a bit dull by others standards. :lol:

but I however did almost get my flop certification on RML as I was heading out. that little down-hill thing after sawmill going to the road bout got the jeep on it's lid, my fault for picking a stupid line though, but I drove out of it and got all wheels back on the ground, so no harm done. :D
