Everyone is invited out to the Annual Uwharrie Mountain Festival. This year the goal is have a great turn out from the 4x4 Crowd. This is a huge event that has fun for everyone, even if you don't have a running trail rig. Here is a link to the official website:

http://www.uwharriemountainfestival.com/index.html

In the years past the 4 wheeling community hasn't been heavily involved in this event. And its the goal of Chris Cagle and others out at Uwharrie to have a bigger showing of the 4x4 community. Terry the Hotdog guy will be out there even serving up hotdogs at Kings Mnt. Point. For those that don't know its a short drive from the Arrowhead or Badin Lake campgrounds.

There will be plenty of groups heading out from the Outpost for trail rides. So even if you don't have a group to wheel with there will be plenty out there to tag along with. Just stop by the Outpost and talk with some of the guys out in the OHV parkinglot.

There are a lot of groups involved with this, including the Forest Service. This is another opportunity for us to show what kind of an impact/presence we have in the Uwharrie area/community.

Thanks for the link Eli, last year was a blast. Bluegrass, wine tasting, handmade jewelry, and chainsaw carving just to name a few.

Wine tasting....? Hmmm.... If I go and don't bring the jeep, then that makes this a non-4x4 event. That should pass the wife's qualifications for the weekend. :D

You park at the Outpost and they shuttle you in and out! There's not enough parking at the Point. People last year said it was not a problem at all! Lot's of neat things happening and things for her to look at! (this is where you get the guy points!) I'll be serving BBQ there! Church group already has the Hot Dog thing for several years. They are calling for perfect weather.

Great to hear for those that have posted up to make it. This is a big opportunity for the groups not so familiar with the 4x4 crowd to see us out there and find out what we are about.

Again this is being heavily supported by a large amount of groups/individuals. Those that we know include the Forest Service (including Janet, she is doing the website even), Chris Cagle (Outpost Owner), Terry the Hot Dog Guy, and many more. A great turn out from the 4x4 community will show our level of involvement and dedication to the area. And all you have to do is show up, enjoy the festivities, wheel, and have a good time. :driver:

If you stop in the Outpost and see Chris Cagle tell him you saw the post on NC4X4.

We have a group that will be up there all weekend at arrowhead and will have to fit this in, sounds like a good time for the kids and the ladies.

Sounds like a great time!
Hopefully I can make this event, it sounds like there will be a pretty good turn-out.

I know if I do come I'll have to have some time set aside for fishing at Badin Lake. Finally went out and got my fishing license after me and a buddy went to Salem Lake, I purchased my 1yr license there.
Can't wait to further test the $110 Pflueger rod and reel my girlfriend got me for my birthday.

Any good fishing advice for Badin Lake?

I'll definitely be there early. I'm leaving my house around 6:30a.m. and should arrive around 7:45. I'll be at the Outpost for a while and hopefully meet up with some people.
Give me a call/text, my number is 336-624-8195, if you'd like to meet up.
