So URE opens April 1st like always, which happens to be a friday this year. im pretty excited. bought my first jeep a week ago and cant wait to try it out:bounce2:. just wondering who all is planning on going down for the first weekend of the season? i know it will be packed so im going down early that morning. towing my jeep to work with me, leaving straight from work at 630am friday morning (i work 3rd). my crew will meet up with me about 10am after ive set up camp and tried to take a nap.
so whos going? what ya taking? are ya camping? just wondering how the turn out will be. kind of a dumb thread i know, but im just so excited i wanna talk about it with more people going :driver:

Time do a little planning and get the truck ready. I will be there prob the entire weekend if possible.

Hoping for a decent rain before hand so the dust wont be bad and there will be a little mud. But yeah im sure there will be a lot of people camping for the whole weekend. If I get the site I want ill be up on the hill right off RML before you cross the creek. Don't be scared to to stop in and say hey.

Triad Trail Junkies is planning to go the weekend after, we will probably set up camp at the Uwharrie Stables again if thats available, and probably have our April M&G at Camp Saturday evening for anyone interested in coming by, we will probably grill out and depending on peoples interest may bring enough food to feed the extra crowds that want to come hang out.

Phil, you gotta bring your new jeep back the 2nd weekend with us, gonna be a good time.

Id love to come back the following weekend, I may be able to. Just depends on how my money is and what I break on the first trip lol. Camping at the stables sounds like a great idea. May try that this year.

We had a blast last time, Johnny was very easy to deal with, and if anything we pushed it a little bit as the evening went on. Paying a few bucks to camp is well worthwhile as far as I am concerned. I believe our group will camp there from now on for our URE trips because it was just nice to be able to all park and camp together as our large group.

$5 a person to camp there, $5 per vehicle at the stables mudpit and other small obstacles.

Another perk of the stables is that we do not have to worry about whether we are breaking any laws by drinking around the camp fire.

Hope you can make it.

I thinks its dumb you can't drink in URE but I understand why cause some people drink and drive. But yeah it would be nice to camp with out having to worry about it. Anyone bringing out something really bad ass or maybe a "new to them rig? " if I had better luck id post a pick of my new to me jeep.

yo Phillip this is Bryant, im trying my best to get my xj out there see what happens and here is a picture of your jeep :p

Man i cant wait!!! Ill be getting back to the states(from afghanistan) next month and will be on a few weeks of leave hopefully I can make it out with the yota that weekend!!

Are the stables open every weekend for camping? Ive drove by b4 as I was going onto the trails by hunt camp and the stables looked dead like no one was over there.

Yes, every weekend unless they have some sort of private event going is my understanding. Nobody being over there was really a blessing for us, our group gets a little loud and it was nice to have the area to ourselves. Our group consisted of about 14 rigs and 25 people, and we only used maybe 1/10 of the field he offered us for camping.

BigBen I got a cold one with your name on if you make it out and can swing by my campsite one night. I appreciate everything you are doing, thanks man. Hope you can make it out.
Only problem I see with camping at the stables would be the sudden urge for night wheeling and being there. Some of my crew don't run tags.

We nightwheeled at the stables, I think our group played in the mud pit for atleast 2 hours... maybe 3. Then went and messed around on the race course they have set up, the racecourse wasn't great in the jeeps, but I had a blast in the go cart haha
